Echo responded “who’s there” and that went on for some time until Echo decided to show herself. She tried to embrace the boy who stepped away from Echo, telling her to leave him alone. Echo was left heartbroken and spent the rest of her life in glens; until nothing but an echo sound remained of her. Nemesis, though, the Goddess of Revenge, heard the story and decided to punish Narcissus. From this point the stories are similar; Narcissus sees himself in the pond and he is amazed by the beauty of the reflection. Once he figured out that his love could not be addressed, he killed himself.

My mother in law hung herself and it has effected my wife a great deal and that pisses me off. Sapper, I feel for you and your family, mine shot herself in the guest bedroom.

Feel like I got pretty lucky with my inlaws, both of them.
One thing that irks me is their undermining of our discipline.

Not enough ink in this phone to list all my complaints about the MIL. Wish she was an ex-MIL but I am still on my starter wife.

My mother in law can be very difficult but she helped us raise our kids and she's always been there to help others in need. I won't say anything against her, I love her.

Another thing is how little respect they show for their parents. Sometimes I want to ask is this how you want your daughter and I to treat you in a few years... but then I remember that im happily married and my mind drifts back off to more important things.

Love mine. I get a free place to stay when we visit the in-laws in Puerto Rico. Cosmos are served promptly at 5:30 every afternoon. Big Trump supporter.

Tina Fey in the MIL Mayhem commercial saying "How could you make something I love?" pretty much sums it up. I love her, but it's not always easy. She had a crappy, jacked-up childhood, so we try hard to cut her some slack. She's loving in the way she knows how. 'Will not say "hello" first, ever, when you walk in a room; always has to act busy and put-out when you show up for a visit; that silly, childish little power-trip trait in anyone has always pissed me off. They're both quite elderly now and starting to both show signs of dementia. He's towards the end of his life, on oxygen, and can't get his breath if he walks a few steps (former cigarrete smoker and, until recently, a pipe "piddler") and she says things like "You can't do anything around here!" They got married at 16 and have always fought like cats and dogs, but somehow, they love each other. She never listened much and now she can't hear. Even our kids that try very hard to help them say "She only wants to talk about herself." The next few years are going to be very hard on my wife and I need to focus on less bitching and more supporting!

Oh Chit I could flat melt your ears with all of the BS me, my kids and the wife to a certain degree (her daughter) put up with for 25 + years. Finally kicked her out of our house after her husband (FIL) died in our game room after 7 months of taking care of him, then housing her another 4 months after he died.
Told her, the wife and her sons she is not allowed in our house while I am there. The wife and the kids can have whatever kind of relationship they want with her as long as it does not involve me!

Mine used to irritate the dog snot out of me, but I knew they had good intentions. As I've aged a few years hell I'm closer to them than my own parents probably. They're good folks.
Only big complaint is that she forever ruined my life two days before Christmas. She was house sitting and watching our dogs while we were in Vegas. Wife said to check the security cameras to make sure dogs were alright....never intended nor ever wanted to see my MIL in the full blown nude...but I did. I'm scarred. Did you at least rub one out?

About all I’ve got is she did not like my bird dogs. When the in laws retired they bought some land and built a house right down the road from us. I feared the worse having them that close 24/7. She and my wife were tight. She was just as sweet as my wife, even if a bit peculiar at times. Having family near was great for my wife and son. She passed away last summer. We all still miss her.

Loved mine and so did Cathy. Great baby setter. Took great care of our animals. I called her Botsey. So, not a complaint? Why only me. You will have a lot of, "So, not a complaints," after all is said and none. Seems as if a whole lot of THFers look for the best in people, rather than the worst.
