I agree with William... that was AWESOME!!! Was great meeting you guys and finally putting a face with some names. Big thanks to 2bees Josh for helping me with the mils and my scope adjustments. That really helped save me some ammo and time. I gotta say I was amazed at how well everything just walked down and back like it’s supposed to. I can’t wait till the match! Thanks for y’all’s help with my buddy Dax as well... he had a good time also.

Josh helped you with scope adjustments? Oh no, now you're gonna have to get someone to teach you to do it properly.

Squads on Practiscore doesn’t matter. Just pick an open slot I will randomize the squads the day of. We’ll shoot three squads of 10 shooters. So one squad will be in one stage second squad on another stage and third squad on another stage. We’ll run three simultaneously. This just cuts down on time and all shooters will shoot all stages just in different order.

Hammurabi- Hammurabi[a] (c. 1810 – c. 1750 BC) was the sixth king of the First Babylonian dynasty of the Amorite tribe[2] reigning from c. 1792 BC to c. 1750 BC (according to the Middle Chronology). He was preceded by his father, Sin-Muballit, who abdicated due to failing health. During his reign, he conquered Elam and the city-states of Larsa, Eshnunna, and Mari. He ousted Ishme-Dagan I, the king of Assyria, and forced his son Mut-Ashkur to pay tribute, bringing almost all of Mesopotamia under Babylonian rule.[3]

On May 28, 2016, a three-year-old boy climbed into a gorilla enclosure at the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden and was grabbed and dragged by Harambe, a 17-year-old western lowland gorilla. Fearing for the boy's life, a zoo worker shot and killed Harambe.

Got home, and this was the dope I found out (reading straight from the scope's reticle):
[Linked Image]

I then got home, and since I got the chronograph data from LabRadar for 10x rounds of SK Match Long Distance, I entered these values into Strelock+, and came up with this "calculated":

Which is not exact dope to what I got from the reticle, but pretty close. I should check them again, specially the one at 150 yards smile

Hey Will, I really like that program you have that gives you the distance and drop. I saw another guy out there today with the chronograph had a neat program like that as well!

I’m shooting the same ammo... the sk Longrange, only my scope is in mils. I have a 20” barrel with a 1:16 twist and I’m not sure what speed I’m getting, however I was able to get my Mils down to the 1/10’s of a mil today.

I’m curious if your program, or maybe another, could back into what speed I’m getting based off of the elevation Drops I have? I’m assuming the program will do both MOA and MILS, correct?

What apps/programs are everyone else using, and does anyone know if they will they back into speed?

My dope for today was:
50—0
75—.9
100– 1.8
125— 3.0
150— 4.3
175— 5.7
200– 7.2

Thanks!

Greg

Greg,

For Strelok, the instructions are here:
manual

You basically have to configure the rifle, scope, and configure the ammo. For the ammo you need to know the bullet weight (40gr in our case), the BC of the bullet, which is (0.172) per this page:
SK Rimfire Ballistic table

But the key value to make it work is the muzzle velocity - which is where you need the chronograph.

Now, this software has something called "truing" where you can use actual dope to adjust things, but I have not tried it. So using your dope you should be able to approximate the muzzle velocity.

I only have experience with Strelock, so hopefully others can chime in with additional advice and guidance.

Will

Thanks Will! I’m thinking maybe a spreadsheet with the formulas would be able to help me back into something as well. If anyone knows of a way for me to figure this out short of going and buying a chronograph, please let me know. Thanks!

Greg, the ‘Shooter’ app allows you to put your dope in and it will give you muzzle velocity. I think it’s still $10.

Once you have added your gun and ammo data, do a calculation....when you get to the results page, hit the icon at the top right and it will open up a page where you can go to Velocity Calculation.

I just use the JBM online ballistics calculator. It’s the trajectory calculator on their site.

So, Josh called me a "King"... I can dig it, King Fitz has a nice ring to it. May just have to change my name on the forum to that.
