I rode through every crash and dip since the early 1980s. I'll do fine through the next one and probably make money on it. This bull run has lasted so long that there is an entire generation throwing money in it who have never lived through a recession or seen a market crash in their adult lives. Other than the stoners that already gambled it all away on cannabis stocks, making money in the market has been stupid easy over the last 5 years. Much of that young generation of investors will be in for a real rough time and likely make a lot of poor decisions with those investments when that crash and recession does come.

This is how I'm retiring at age 48 in a few months. All money is pulled and safe from any crash.

Amazing to me that all the perma bulls here don’t mention a persons age in their investment risk appetite.
I have been retired for 8 years, made a boat load of money in the market, took more risk early in life when I had time to recover from down drafts in the markets.
I keep a small core position invested but the nest egg is diversified in multiple asset classes including cash safely on the sidelines.
When market gains are directly corresponding to the nightly amount of money the Fed is pumping into the Repo market and not companies technicals and fundamentals then the market is no longer functioning as a true price discovery mechanism.

The Fed farce started around 07-08, thought the companies actual performance is what has been sustaining the market. Historical economic models seem to be somewhat useless now.

Could get ugly Monday morning, futures are down 400 pts.
Interesting that Friday’s market loss came after the Feds smallest overnight Repo injection of only $25 Billion. I bet the Fed cranks it up tonight. Be interesting to see if the central banks can print enough to stem the tide of the virus down draft.

No they're the coordinates for the hidden gold/National Treasure written on the back of the Declaration Of Independence.

Futures expiry date. The expiration dates for U.S. stock and stock index futures contracts fall on the third Friday of every third month. That was cut and pasted from a real time futures chart. Sorry about that. I did not even notice the date on the chart or I would have wiped it off the post. With this crazy market, unknown impact from the novel coronavirus, bernie possibly the dem presidential candidate, the media blowing up negative market headlines for ratings and political reasons, and young or inexperienced investor fears, it's going to be impossible to know when the market finds a bottom on this one. But it shall pass.
