I’m going to be a student next year at Texas A&M looking to see if there are any openings around that area to get on a lease
Thanks, Jackson Comer Jackson_comer@hotmail.com 425-241-9799

Real tough getting on a lease. Make buddies when you get to school, likely find a few guys who are on leases or regularly hunt lake Somerville.

Texas A&M used to have a pretty large Ducks Unlimited Chapter. Start there and you should at least find the right kind of folks.

Yeah check out lake Somerville. When I went to A&M they had a drawing for blinds/or spots to build blinds on the lake. There were probably 30-40 spots, and to my surprise I got drawn pretty early and got to choose which spot I wanted. That was the late 90’s so things might have changed, but we killed ducks there. Enjoy A&M... some of the best years of my life

L/O always are needing help, I just finished up at baylor, and built some great relationships with landowners that lasted for the 4.5 years I was there. If you are willing to help you shouldn’t have an issue finding some access

There will be hundreds for the blind drawing at Somerville...each adult gets one ticket...guys bring wives, girlfriends, employees, adult children...the best 10 or so blinds will go fast with a couple hundred chances in the bucket...last time my wife and I went there were 300+ numbers given out before they started pulling...you can also hunt the other end of the lake by boat...

The blind drawing rules have changed this year in Somerville. They do not require you to be there for the drawing but do require you to show up to pick your blind in person. To enter in the draw you will need to mail in an index card with the usual information. Somerville blind drawingI just finished a productive year on my blind there with mostly getting into the green wing teals. This was my go to location while studying at A&M. Best of luck and Gig'em

I'm in my senior year at A&M, the Ducks Unlimited Chapter is huge here, make friends and you'll be set on duck hunting. Never shot a duck before I came to A&M now I can't go to bed with out dreaming about cupping birds!!
