What is the deal with cancelling everything at even a hint of bad weather? Our school district is closed today, temps are not expected to get below 35. Many businesses closed too. It's not like weather forecasts are highly accurate these days.

That happens down here as well, once we get a real bad day they let it ride and things go haywire. Then they forecast a end of the world wintery day, shut the city down and it turns into absolutely nothing.

Yet some idiots go out driving through flooded streets.

I'm the recipient of weather overreaction this morning. I don't go in until 9:30 based on a forecast that didn't show the temperature getting below 35. Seems pretty ridiculous but if they want me to come in late I'll do it.

I think they are too afraid of the wrath that will fall on them IF it was bad weather etc. even though it still wouldn't be their fault.

Its horrible in dfw.

Its the 3 rd time the metromess are salt brining the crap out of every road and knowing very well the temps will remain above 35 F in dfw.
Its like they do that on purpose, cauz, if not, they wont supply their budget again.

Ps: that salt brine combined with rain corrodes the crap out of your car

Total joke here in Weatherford/Brock. My wife (teacher) and 4 kids love the day off but total overreaction as usual.

We're sitting at 1 degree this morning with more snow on the way, our roads were closed about 2 days with the last storm.
Want to see what happens when they don't close the roads with bad weather? Watch this video of a 24 vehicle pile up just this week : https://laramielive.com/watch-dashcam-footage-of-20-vehicle-pileup-on-i-80-in-wyoming/

I guess some people have to complain just to hear themselves complain.

If the weather folks did not give all possibilities.... People would complain that the weather people should have known it was going to be bad weather.

People need to be glad we have the technology we do and can get early predictions. They also need to know the weather people do not know what God is going to do.

Just be happy to get the information and use it to make your best judgement on how to handle your day.

Be thankful you have the luxury to complain. happy3

In our case around here I am so glad they do if the roads are actually icy.

I am a firefighter and people here have no clue how to drive on icy roads. It's unbelievable!!

I was out driving a million dollar fire truck in this crap last night and early this morning because people couldn't keep their cars on the road.

I drove home from the station this morning and got sideways on I-20 going only 30 mph. Luckily I got it straightened out.

We cancelled our Oklahoma routes because of the forecast - should have went ahead and ran everything from I-35 and east of that. Looks like the big country is getting plowed. I-20 from Baird going west is a mess all the way to I-10. Most of the highways out that way between there, Lubbock, San Angelo are all orange or red also. Good day to stay home out in w. Texas. I'd give a $100 to be rabbit hunting today.
I get most of my information from google maps filled in with reports from drivers and customers we have out also.
