I haven’t ever shot a goose, but I’m going to Arkansas this weekend for a snow goose hunt. I’m average with a shotgun so I need some direction on shot size. I’m shooting 3 inch,so if any real experienced hunters could give me some thoughts I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance

Snow geese are pretty easy to bring down when in range. I like 3” # 1 steel. Shoot the front half of the bird.

I use to use Fs and Ts but a lot of pass shooting. BB is fine over a spread.

For snows, I’m running #2 steel shot all day long in a 3” chamber with an extended full choke. I haven’t hunted snows in a long time but we used to hammer them with that combo. That was just straight cheap steel shot too, I can’t imagine you needing anything bigger with today’s loads.

Bbs or 2s Also throw some bismuth, hevishot or tungsten shells in as your last 2-3 shots. Assuming your hunting unplugged reservations season.

I have not shot many, all Canadas, I have shot them when duck hunting on public lakes when they pass over, and I have dropped them like a rock with 3 inch #4, 1 1/8 load.
