I don't know why I had them............now I have nothing at the age of 55 that I collect and can walk out the door without losing a penny and never looking back. and not leaving stuff for anyone to get rid of it.

I even collected Jeeps but the IRS decided they wanted to collect them.

Not sure. I pull the curls off the mallards and sprigs off of pintals. They end up in my vehicle headliners.
I have a turkey, a coopers hawk, blue jay, and blue heron feather in my work truck I've found on the ranch. Don't know why, I guess I think they're cool.

I want to be a burden on my kids. Not really. I am not adding much now. I really dont have an organized collection of anything.

Be careful with that. A friend of mine had a Game Warden give him a hard time over a turkey feather he had in his truck.

But for real, I have a rock collection that I have had for nearly 30 yrs that my great gpa gave me. I haven't added anything to it and plan on passing it down to my son.

Mostly very EXPENSIVE

Most of the stuff I want to collect I can't afford in the first place.

Why?

- I can enjoy looking at something with value rather than money or a stock portfolio setting somewhere
- I don't otherwise spend the money - it's a way of saving that I can liquidate later
- I hope it goes up in value, but I still will enjoy it if not

Good reasons all right there and I agreed..............my stuff just got to where it owned me vs me enjoying it any longer................except for my jeeps

Starting to feel your pain. I sold a bunch when I bought my boat last year (how I got my wife to agree). Need to sell more.

Same for me. In a way it's a diversification of funds. Plus it's more fun buying stuff than just putting money into an account.

If you're talking about stuff that I keep buying even though I already have plenty, ammo would be at the top of my list.
