At one time I had one of the largest first generation colt single actions with letters.........at least in TX and OK

one of the largest Winchester collections of famous people in the USA

and just about the largest Case knife collections in the USA......................

I don't know why I had them............now I have nothing at the age of 55 that I collect and can walk out the door without losing a penny and never looking back. and not leaving stuff for anyone to get rid of it.

I even collected Jeeps but the IRS decided they wanted to collect them.

I collect things that I don’t want anyone else to have.

I'm a reader of books, a lover of dogs, gardening, and cooking. Figure it out.

I collect because its something I enjoy looking at, I enjoy the process of acquisition and its something tangible I can remember good times by

I collect nothing. Even memories, I no longer store up.

Not sure. I pull the curls off the mallards and sprigs off of pintals. They end up in my vehicle headliners.
I have a turkey, a coopers hawk, blue jay, and blue heron feather in my work truck I've found on the ranch. Don't know why, I guess I think they're cool.

I want to be a burden on my kids. Not really. I am not adding much now. I really dont have an organized collection of anything.
Mostly random old stuff.

If the 2nd amendment was written just to include guns for hunting, why is there not an amendment to protect fishing poles?

Be careful with that. A friend of mine had a Game Warden give him a hard time over a turkey feather he had in his truck.

I collect money but Im terrible at it!

But for real, I have a rock collection that I have had for nearly 30 yrs that my great gpa gave me. I haven't added anything to it and plan on passing it down to my son.

Most of the stuff I want to collect I can't afford in the first place.

Why?

- I can enjoy looking at something with value rather than money or a stock portfolio setting somewhere
- I don't otherwise spend the money - it's a way of saving that I can liquidate later
- I hope it goes up in value, but I still will enjoy it if not

Starting to feel your pain. I sold a bunch when I bought my boat last year (how I got my wife to agree). Need to sell more.

Same for me. In a way it's a diversification of funds. Plus it's more fun buying stuff than just putting money into an account.

If you're talking about stuff that I keep buying even though I already have plenty, ammo would be at the top of my list.
