Maybe this has been posted before but:

The potential environmental damage of the invasive creatures was the agenda’s first topic, presented by Jessica Rymel, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension agent for Cass County.

Rymel has been instrumental in securing a wild pig abatement grant to fund a hog hunting bounty program that will run from Sept. 1 to Nov. 18 this year in Cass County. Feral hogs harvested during the period will bring $5 each, with the presentation of the tail as biological evidence.

What I don't like is it runs through the first couple of weeks of deer rifle season.

Interesting. I need to check this out for property I have in Upshur Co. Got lots of hogs and might as well cut tail and collect $5 per.
Problem is will increase hog doggers and trespassing even more.

Hog doggers will just cut the tails off, leave the pig alive to run another day. It's mostly 'sport' for them anyway. The bounty just means they can buy a six pack later on.
