Anybody ever try these? I got excited when they announced them and then it seemed like 2 years later I finally saw they were available for purchase. I was browsing for something to try in my 22-250 and saw they were finally available. Anybody shot any animals with one?

Yes, they are awesome! I ordered about 400 of these bullets. I tried some in a 223 Rem and they shot great. I wanted to take an animal with them, but I already had the 64 grain bonded bullet loaded up and sighted in. I have always wanted a heavier and tougher bullet for the 223 and this bullet should do very well. I will be loading this bullet.

Yeah I figured they will shoot great but I'm wanting something that will work well on predators and hogs and maybe even a deer. The Sierra 65 GKs have worked good for my daughter thus far but I'd like something with a little more expansion on coyotes. Since Hornady won't make me a 75 ELD-X, I think the ABs may be the ticket.

The 65 grain Sierra Game Kings have dramatic expansion and fragmentation from the times I have shot animals with it. I never got a pass through on a deer with that bullet, and never a pass through on a pig. The deer went a short distance, but did go down. The pig ran a little further. The 70 AB will be a much tougher bullet. Expansion should be there, but the penetration will be much better. The 64 grain bonded bullet I used this past season worked great. .224" hole going in and about a dime size exit hole. I was really impressed with that bullet and the performance from a 223 Rem bolt gun. The 70 AB should perform very similar- decent expansion and deep penetration. You won't see the dramatic expansion with the 70 AB as the 65 grain SGK, especially on soft targets like a coyote.

Will it stabilize in my 9 twist 223?
Not my monkeys, not my circus...

Should. I’ve shot the 70 RDF on mine with no issues. I’ve even shot 75 Hornady HPs with no issues

They shoot well out of my 9 twist savage. I have shot two does with them. Both field dressed in the 70’s so not very big deer. Both were lung shot through the ribs at around 125 yards. Both exited with about a nickel size hole. One ran about 35 yard and the other ran 60-70 yards. It was not much of a penetration test but I was shooting a .223... all in all about as good as I hoped for.

Im sure you’ve shot way more with them than I have but exits on a 225 pound boar and a mature buck. Damage inside wasn’t great but did the job.

For me getting exits on deer with a 223 has required bonded partitioned or mono metal bullets. 55 grain cup and core bullets just done fit that bill. IF they do go through it is the exception not the rule.

I was wanting to try these since they were announced 2 years ago but now that I can pick up Speer 75 Gold Dots for half the price, I'll probably pass.
