Over the years we've all come across people with "different" names. I worked with a guy named "Peter Small" only to be outdone by another co-worker in development named "Peter Large".

This morning takes the cake... I have an on-line side business I've run for 15+ years and see lots of interesting names and email addresses. I got an order this morning from a guy named "Richard Head". It's not fake as it's a commercial order and everything checks out.

Why as a parent, would you purposely do that to your child? Did no one say... you might want to pick a different first name?

Charlie

A kid I grew up with, his mom was a nurse. I kid you not, the doctor she worked under was a urologist and was named Dr. Richard Chopp.

Those are pretty funny. I think as a kid they would probably cause issue. As a teen/adult they probably just start some good friendly conversation and help people remember you.

Ive never come across anything like those, but have had a few like Abcde etc. that make you just shake your head and say what were those parents thinking.

My name is Matthew, my first born son is Luke. If we had another boy it was going to be Mark or John and then we would have to try for the other. Thankfully my precious little Anna saved me from have to re create the four gospels lol.

I used to call on a guy named Richard Head. I would call him and his assistant would tell me "just a moment and I'll see if Dick is in" I would laugh every time. I agree. Why on earth would you put a name on a kid that will subject him to jokes all his life?

Had a buddy his name was Rich Payne...his Dad was Richard and wanted II. We always called his Dad "Dick" and he embraced it and it was always a pretty good joke. His Dad was a character and always fun to hang out with.

She gets to this kids name in class a calls... Dick Head
eeks333: You could of heard a pin drop in class. At the back of the class you hear this kid say here.
She ask, would you like for me to call you Richard?
He says no you can call me Dick, I've been known as Dick my whole life.

Our whole class burst out laughing rofl

we used to have a dingy receptionist with an IQ of about 62 on a good day ... some of the guys would go to someone else's phone and call her to page Mike Hunt. A few minutes later she would announce throughout the building Mike Hunt, please call extension XXXX ... everyone would burst out laughing.

Had a pair of James brothers at my HS named Frank and Jessie. Never met the guy, but there's a file at work and the customer's name is Salmon Trout. Years ago my dad deer hunted with a Social Security attorney named Robin Hood.

I can tell you from personal experience that this is 100% spot on. In Elementery school and early Jr. High, I got in a bunch of fist fights over my name.By the time I hit High School and College, it was a novelty and great fun at parties! My given name is Michael Hunt, but everyone calls me Mike.
