Does anyone have any thoughts in the Cowboys new coach? Upgrade or Downgrade?

It'll go pretty well for a couple of years.

He will be a hero until the middle or less of this years season. Then he will suck like the last one.

He has a good record in Cowboys stadium...............

I think new blood is going to be an improvement immediately.

They should have hired a high school coach, a person that is used to dealing with juvenile delinquents.

Man I loved Jimmy.............he HATED losing no matter what and he had no problem with having favorites on the team that performed.

Judd is a troll, don't listen to him. MM was the best option cowboys could have taken. Who would have been better? No one.

Rivera was the best coach on the block and Jerry was too busy letting Red Headed Jesus down easy to even interview him

I was really hoping it was going to be Josh McDaniel...I would've enjoyed watching him fail here.

He and Rodgers did not get along. Rodgers apparently thought he was smarter than McCarthy and would audible out of 50 percent of his play calls. It was just super dysfunctional. I am not sure if he is a good coach but I think we cannot look at his last couple of years at Green Bay without taking that into account. I am concerned though that GB is so dominant WITHOUT him. It could be their new coach is just letting Rodgers be the offensive coordinator and focusing on improving the defense and run game.

He had no control over personnel. Ted Thompson , GM for the Packers had multiple poor drafts, hated free agents thus didn't go after any, and generally gave MM a poor hand to play with. Rogers was hurt all last year. If Rogers is so good and was calling 50% of the plays why did GB only win 5 games???

When MM arrived in Green Bay it was toward the end of Favre's GB tenure and Favre had fallen into bad habits and not doing his game prep and McCarthy straightened him out, cut way down on his int's, and had him playing well again. He also worked on Rodgers' throwing motion and got him quite ready for the pros. (Rogers was not thought of as a generational talent QB coming out of college).

I didn't like the choice at first but after doing some homework I think the Cowboys did well getting McCarthy.

Absolutely. I am no Cowboys fan but I can see that they greatly improved with adding MM. Wish Houston would have done it.
