There's been a Saudi officer in every officer Professional Military Education (PME) class I have ever attended. At one time, I was a cadre member and a young Saudi lieutenant fell asleep in the front row while I was pitching an operations order. I was polite, but I totally embarrassed him when I woke him up in front of everyone. I mentioned to him something about that kind of behavior gets Soldiers killed. Man, he got MAD.

Not long after, another young Saudi officer got a DUI and was immediately sent home. IIRC, there was a betting pool among the other trainees on whether he would be executed when he returned home.

Many, if not most, Saudi and Kuwaiti officers who train in the U.S. are part of their royal families which is how they get the coveted slots.

A lot of the training also is tied to the Saudi's purchases of military equipment. Boeing makes billions of dollars off of sales all aroubd the world so do other companies. The taxpayers are subsidizing these companies through the training programs.
