Making progress on this project. You must have too much time on your hands to start a job like this. Looking good though, be sure and show us the finished project. What color is it going to be later?

That's a very cool conversion....What kind of mileage do you get? Have used it more or less than you planned/thought you would?
Any major things you wish you would have done/not done/done differently?

It has a gas motor with Alison automatic so it drives like a really big Suburban. With genset running for AC on the highway at 60 it gets about 5.5MPG. Turn off genset and it goes up to 6MPH.
I don't use it as much today as I did when it was built but still have it although it's been sitting for last 2 years. When I built it, I had been doing a lot of research and it's pretty much exactly how I wanted it.
I plan to do a total overhaul and will upgrade batteries and electric system and add some solar panels on roof. Would like to install a Cummings and switch over to Diesel. A long range friend did a similar conversion on his and went to 10MPG@70. As of now, the genset shares the same gas tank so I would have to upgrade genset to diesel or add another tank dedicated to it.

I have thought about doing a SBC as I build a few those for Son's IMCA Alcohol Modified and granddaughters EMod and a couple of lifelong racing buddies. Best friend has a GMC short bus built on a 1ton chassis w/350 and automatic that's pretty cool. He can easily pull his racecar and trailer and has a place to sleep if race is too far from home or take small trailer and golfcart for trips to the beach.
