In a 26-page report Thursday, Dallas Police Chief U. Reneé Hall released the department’s plan to reduce violent crime after 2019 ended with more than 200 murders — a number not seen since 2007.

Let me take a wild guess here , the answer is we need more money....Use detroit tactics , get detroit results.
Side note , how do these folks get elected chief? I mean detroit is a long ways away, was there no other qualified folks in all that distance?

She didn't get elected. She was appointed by their liberal council and mayor.

I wonder how it would work out if the Police Officers were able to vote their own Chief into office?

Short of having a cop on every corner, I don't see how you can stop crime. You can catch them after they commit the crime, but they'll still do it. As long as some have and some don't there will be violent crime.

The police are the face of crime and take a brunt of the responsibility.

The reality is there are system failures on every level. District Attorney, probation, judges, bonds etc.

A great majority of these crimes are not committed by first time offenders.

Absolutely not. The cops take ALL the heat for a failed system. When they arrest the same people over and over again.

Oh, so the system has failed..... I guess more funds needed to fix it ? I guess we can agree to disagree. I dont see the system is failed. I see the "leaders" have failed the system.

Yes. The system is failed. I don’t know what you call it when the cops have arrested the same guy 40 times.

Yes, more funds are needed. It costs to house the criminals.

Dallas does not have the staff to police their city like their citizens deserve.

You can propose all kinds of programs, community oriented policing, etc., but try implementing all that without boots on the ground.

Chief Glitter Eyes needs to work on recruiting and pay raises first.

First the citizens need to "clean up the city council", then the rest of the system will start to fall into place.

The majority of the citizens in Dallas want the system that's in place. That's why they voted for them.

Until citizens start doing what's right, reporting crime and immediately coming forward with info on crimes, nothing will change. You deserve what you put into it.

It's always about leadership.
The drug problem is out of control in Dallas. Leaders need to take control and eradicate the perpetrators.
