I always forget to “winterize”my equipment, engines, etc.

So I bought me som stabil. The instructions are to small to read.

How do y’all use it? For lawnmower, chainsaws, weed eater, 4wheelrr.

Get some reading glasses or look it up on google.

This week I had the fun of replacing a 40gallon tank and electric intank fuel pump, about 400 dollars worth. I had not drove the truck in about 8 years and the tank filled with rust and sludge and pump froze up with the same. I never thought so much damage could be caused by not running in 8 years. Still not running , I have clean fuel though

Best thing to do is run those engines dry until they stop.
Leaving ethanol in your fuel lines and carb is not good.

For equipment that will be stored over the winter I use Stabil Storage. I like to run the engine almost out of fuel though and leave just enough in the fuel line to filter and carb. I use Stabil 360 in my UTV as I use it year round.

The Walmart in Boerne sells ethanol free gas. Sure wish more places did. I was on a pheasant hunt in Gregory, SD and the convenience store sold ethanol free gas at the pump, which I thought was kind of odd, being we were in a heavy corn farming area. 'Guess they want their equipment to run too.

Then run engine to circulate the treated fuel into the lines and EFI injectors. I also remove spark plugs, fogg they cylinders (fogging spray) and replace plugs. Make sure to lower the motor to vertical to drain any water from system.

And if it's a two-cycle with a squeeze bulb, push it several times after the engine stops to purge any residual fuel from the lines.

I also remove the drain screw from the bottom of the float bowl on ATV and generator engines after running them dry. The small amount of fuel that's left in the bottom of the bowl can create havoc if left to dry.

Make sure the water is out of your pumps, power washers, and the like.
Don't forget hoses...the valve on your pressure washer wands see to be big sellers in the spring.

I use Star Tron for gas treatment.

Yes, good catch. Those pumps ain't cheap.
