I’m considering high fencing a piece of property I have that is about 190 acres. For those of you that target big whitetails on high fence ranches, would you pay to hunt 250”+ whitetails if the price was right, on a place this size?

Depends also any accommodations? Are you supplying food drinks all inclusive type hunt? Anything else available with that hunt varmints, hogs, any exotics? Where is the property ?

It would also depend on how the property hunts. Are there trees brush ravines or just flat open property. If there is plenty of cover for deer and bow hunters would be more likely to h7nt small areas

The big question is can you grow a Deer to at least 250 inches, make the price right to get hunters and still make money yourself.

you will have to market to corporations who will pay this type of money to shoot "penned" deer. They are entertaining clients, lodging, booze will be their main focus, shoot a deer and head back to the lodge. Then home.
You will then "bill" said companies for their moneys owed.
You wont find many THF members who can afford $11,000 to shoot a 200+ deer in a pen.
just my opinion, I've learned over my hunts on ranches which grow these monster deer.
TONS of money to grow them , feed them, keep your investments from dying, vet bills, sub pens to keep them from killing each-other during the rut.

Canned hunts aren't my thing and I dont' want a hero shot that bad.

Yes someone will do it, if the price is right. Just throwing out a number but if you priced a 250 inch buck at 5k you would have a line out the door to shoot it. Doubt you could get it that low and make money but just saying. For the right price you can make it happen.

Kinda of a question a situation like this brings up for some large breeders out there. If it were possible to purchase 30-40 stocker bucks say 180-225” at one time what would the price per buck look like?

If it were possible to purchase 30-40 stocker bucks say 180-225” at one time what would the price per buck look like? Depends on the breeder. From what I've seen it's cheaper to buy a yearling but that's not to say it's cheap. Depending on the bloodlines you could be looking at anywhere from $1000 to $15000 if your'e looking for a 3 year old. Plus you want to buy does too because they carry their father's genetics and you don't want your $15000 buck wasting time on a doe who's dad was a non-typical ugly thing. I haven't invested in deer but do run a ranch and we try to manage genetics to the best of our ability without introducing new genes.
Hunting is an excuse for almost anything

Your goal should be to have the deer culled and all mature bucks 150 and over. Lose one to disease and no big deal.
