I just purchased a Primary Arms scope for my AR along with an American Defense QD Mount. Question, do you think I should get a vice to hold the gun in place for the mounting or do you think it would be ok to leave the mount unattached, make sure that the mount is level, secure the scope in the mount and then attach the mount to the AR?

I doubt I'll have much use for a vice going forward.

More important to make sure AR is level, then mount QD Mount with scope loose enough to move and level the scope to the AR, then tighten rings. Easy enough with a decent bipod.
