The best bar I've ever been in was the NCO club at Howard AFB panama. 3 floors with anything from total mayhem to fine dining.

Many many years ago when I was chasing wells all over TX and New Mexico there was a place called the County Line, I believe it was between Denver City and Lovington. That place would fill up every night with folks coming out of the oil patch and off the farms and ranches. You could play pool and shuffleboard up front and if you were invited they always had a card game going in the back. Some of them old farts up there were pretty salty on any table they chose to play on. Allot of young hands lost their pay checks in that place. Wasn't much of a poker player back then but I was a shuffleboard player, left that place with allot more of their money than they ever got of mine.

Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.

Ft. Worth:

The Branch Office.

The Quick Draw, they served the best ham sandwiches and after closing time, they showed old silent movies for an hour.

Greatness.

It was in Espanola, NM in the early 80’s. Don’t know if it’s still there.

It appears to still be open. Looks like an interesting place.

It was that for sure. Had to be careful which bikers were there.

The Bloated Goat just across the NM state line.

When the "Dump" closed, it was tore down. One of the stories was that it was tore down to remove all of the evidence of illegal activities. A guy that I went to grade school with back in the 1950's would call every so often and ask me to meet him there. It got to be that I was almost accepted by that bunch. But I always felt "saved" as I drove off.
