I'm one of the lucky one's. My wife is from Throckmorton, and we hunt there now, and have a house there. All the kids, and friends come to us for Thanksgiving, and I get to hunt all week!!! banana

I've been hunting every day but 2 since gun opener. Gonna' leave on wednesday before Thanksgiving and head to Gruene for the feast with my in-laws. Wake up on friday and hunt near Canyon lake, then for dinner go to Adobe verde or the Gristmill, then head over to Gruene hall. Love this time of year.

Drive up to Cass county and spend the weekend with the wife’s grandma. Will do a little duck hunting and maybe some hog hunting.

Check to see if Tin Valley Retro Rentals has any openings. https://tinvalleyretrorentals.com/
It is down by Terlingua, they have a bunch of redone "campers" , just a neat place.

That is a cool place and too expensive. I need to add this to my list.
Thanks.

I've seen that place on TV. In the NatGeo series Badlands Texas about the (literally) underground bar owner that was killed in a drunken fight allegedly by a river guide "friend"?

The video in top of link below has a link to the whole NatGeo series which tells the whole story in six 40 minute youtube videos - a very sad but interesting documentary.

I took off all next week anticipating my daughter would be home from college in Alabama. But, the volleyball team placed high enough in the Sun Belt Conference that they are going to be invited to play in an after season tournament. Either the big dance or an invitational. Sounds great, except now she won't be home for Thanksgiving because they'll still be practicing. My son won't be out of school until Wed afternoon. The only plans we have is with all the family Thanksgiving Day at my brother's place. I reckon I'm gonna deer/hog/duck hunt solo or with my brother up to turkey day, then do the same with my son afterwards.

We had to take all the kids to Kingsville for Thanksgiving years ago 'cause one daughter was playing basketball with TLU. Drove to Corpus to have Thanksgiving at Cracker Barrel. Pretty close to the worst Thanksgiving ever. The other two girls (mine) are step-sisters to the one that was playing. Fun times. mad

15 or so here at the house on Thanksgiving. 'Went to Total Wine yesterday. It hurt. I'll probably head to the ranch, maybe with the son, Friday.

Wife is only off Thursday so I guess the plan is we'll head up to her parents house for lunch and hang out a while. They only live a mile or two down the road. FIL is getting us access to a 300 ac place 5 minutes from the house that hasn't been hunted in 40+ years in exchange for some yearly mowing/fence work...so I may hop on the mule and go check it out Friday. May duck hunt also. Who knows. Looking forward to a 4 day weekend.

To be fair, cracker barrel is pretty good food

I'll be hunting until Tuesday or Wednesday and then coming home for Thanksgiving before heading back to hunt the rest of the week.

Hopefully head out Friday morning to the ranch. Wife has to work so may feel a little guilty.....

Thanksgiving day will be spent with my bride and her mom... The rest of the time I will be searching for some thing with antlers. Tomorrow lunch I'm done with doing what I do so I can do what I do for a few days. Good luck and happy thanksgiving guys and gals.

Stuck working in Singapore this year, might cook something for the guys at work.

If I'm home Thanksgiving, I normally cook a big meal for the family then load the kids up and go deer hunting.

IMO, the Lady that owns this, is not hitting on all cylinders.

Might want to watch that Badlands series. Just sayin.

I will be hunting in Graham this weekend, then flying to Puerto Rico on Tuesday to visit my cousin.

Off all week, will load up Wednesday to head to the Escondido for Turkey day with the wife and son. Meet up with the brother and parents at the ranch and stay until Sunday. The rut doesn’t really get going until the first week of December but we usually take a hog or ram. Son gets to break in his first set of coveralls and practice with his compound bow. Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!!
