My hunting buddy shot this deer yesterday morning. Think the malformation is genetics or damaged at some point. 14 1/2", field dress 155 lbs.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, beer in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming.

Did you inspect it's teeth to see if they were worn down. Could be old age or genetics in my opinion. Damage would most likely be on one antler, but that whole rack looks funky.
It needed to go!...Good Job!
Thursday at 12:45 PM #33 Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

Not genetics. Looks more like lack of teeth and old age than anything. Very common for very old bucks to have antlers that look like that. Other thing is it could be from antler damage, or leg injury or illness.
Are idiots multiplying faster than normal people?

Yes, taxi said it was 7-8 years old.

Yes, taxi said it was 7-8 years old. Which means probably 9.
