Last year I ran a couple guided catifshing trips on the Nueces River near George West. The house is between George West and Lake Mathis. It's always deep as we are lake level. White bass and crappie bite year round. The white bass run is just starting and should be really good very soon. If one is prepared they can possibly catch 200+ pound alligator gar and big catfish.

Now anyone can rent the house and do all the fishing you want. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/38852040?source_impression_id=p3_1572461307_muOM7bcVvEVWEpx9

Check out the trips we ran last spring (I only run spring since I guide deer hunts through winter).

FYI - I updated pricing and lowered the cleaning fee in order to get a few people out to get started.

Is there a place to dock the boat at the house?

Yes. Our 'dock' is a pontoon boat. we park our boat next to it when fishing.

Brother's wife was fishing Sun/Mon and caught lots of white bass and crappie. It's barely out of the picture but at the end of the walkway right next to the river is a fish cleaning station. We usually catch 5-10 and then clean..Then start over.

Just got back. Whites were really good off the dock. Never even had to take the boat out. Big females.

Sorry no pictures as I was there to mainly work. But here's a pictures of the reworked "dock"

Only a couple people went. You guys missed out! Most of April is open to book. April is the best month IMO. Get out there and fish!

I was catching 3 white bass each throw.

A small catch one morning before guys got there.

First double Friday morning with the guys.

Straightened hook. 10/0 circle

Then we caught this big one! Was only 30 pounds or so but big enough for me.

Starting to get warmer. Better get that fishing in before summer. This cabin would still be a good place to go get away even when it's hot out. And about 60 miles from the beach.

We are booked through the first weekend in June. IMO it will be too hot after that to catch enough fish to be worth it unless you have a good boat.

Still a great place to go relax and get away..sit around a fire and look at a few gar swim by at night under the dock lights.

If anyone's looking for a get away further north I'm about to start a thread detailing our newest B&B in San Saba next to Colorado Bend State Park. I may have started one a while back but can't remember.

My sister and BIL are at the river cabin right now. Water was flowing good for some reason and they were catching lots of fish. Maybe they got rain above Choke and are releasing water. And of course the big one got away at the dock....a 10lb blue. Not bad for daytime fishing in late June...

We had the steps to the dock rebuilt and added a ramp. Fishing is hot right now. Next project will be new flooring upstairs.

If anyone on this forum fishes my place please do a fishing report. Be sure and text me to get tips wether fishing off the dock or out of a boat.
You can always message Ashley on AirBnB (she's the manager) and get a current fishing report. But that report can be good for a day before things change as it's fishing. Be sure and book early for next year. Most do not realize the big catfish run early (Feb.) and whites, weather permitting, can be great Dec - Feb after a cold snap is over. We've had some of our best trips in Dec/Jan. Consistent whites are late Feb-March though.

My father, my wife and I stayed at this property and had a great time! The house was very spacious and welcoming. We spent most of our time at the water fishing or under the covered patio with a fan. We caught many gar and a few catfish, then we figured out to fish shallow near the banks and caught well over 2 dozen white bass and crappie. I believe we brought 3 of each home as well as a couple gasper goo. Had we figured out the fishing pattern earlier in the trip we likely could’ve slayed em! I recommend visiting as we will b back ourselves.
Only complaint is ceiling height for people over 6’3” bang which as I said, we spent most of our time out side.

In the process of all new floors upstairs. Will try to update with pictures soon

River is very fishy right now but bugs are very bad as it's been a long wet spring.

We just got back from a record breaking fishing trip. Every single day except one we landed a flathead over 20 pounds. Best morning was 3 fish flathead stringer that weighed 75 pounds.

Looks like we have zero bookings the rest of the month or in April. You guys need a place to relax and fish need to check this place out.
