Don’t know anything else other than what’s written in the article. Looks like it’s a long shot for a WR but WR or not, a beautiful buck. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2019/10/full-24111-205054-d4ef44ca_c137_4d93_a6da_b98462eed696.jpeg)

Got this in a text this morning. Said to be a new OK. state record pending drying period and score. Great buck but does not look to be WR from that one pic though, better pics and it may very well be. Still a huge buck and as pretty of a clean typical as you would want. To bad he chipped off that right beam tip already. That maybe just enough to keep from the new WR.

Yes beautiful deer. So sad it had chipped the beam. Very well may have made the difference.

Great buck congrats to the hunter! That would be cool to see the WR come out of the south.

Wow. I don't think I've ever seen a typical 16 point, amazing no tines were broken.

Hell of a buck regardless of any records it sets (or doesn't)

Yes beautiful deer. So sad it had chipped the beam. Very well may have made the difference. Yep, probably knocked off 3" right there. But amazing symmetry all in all. Won't be too many deductions considering it's an 8x8 typical (lots of opportunity to be different).

I saw 5-6" right off the bat with the mainbeam break and G2's. 214 gross and 201 net by the fathers score of the buck. Looks like he may have had a base point that may make an inch also for a deduct. 8x8 could make for a lot of short deducts that are not easily spotted at first glance but all add up in the end. Shame you can't just give the deer credit for what he grew on the final score....no need for deducts.

Anyway you look at it....a very nice buck. An exceptional Archery Kill. And like you...I appreciate the animal for what it had/grew when it was taken. Not after 'deductions'.

Well the young man who killed that buck has set the bar pretty high. That one is going to be hard to top. Buck of several lifetimes in my humble opinion.

I have seen two 8x8 typical bucks and both were killed on the same LF ranch in South Texas. One was killed a long time ago and the other one was killed in the early 2000's. One nets in the book also. The same guy who killed one of the 8x8 also killed a 7x7 typical off the same ranch in the same pasture, his bucks were killed a yr or two apart. I have killed one 7x7 typical but an 8x8 is something very rare and very unique that I would like to kill someday. I like a big clean typical and this young mans is tremendous.

Official green score: Gross 209-4/8" net 192-6/8" No, official Game Warden Green score. BC panel will be official. Killed 20 miles from my old place in Pawnee. I’ve measured several 200” deer from that county but never a true typical anywhere close to that. 200” doesn’t shock me, 200 Typical is crazy and I probably would laugh at you. Even crazier that deer isn’t near as heavy as most are in the area. Hell of a cool deer.

We killed a straight up 14 on our lease a few years back - those are rare enough but a 16 is incredible - awesome deer
You can't fix stupid

My question is, how wide is the deer. The one pic he doesn’t look real wide.

My question is, how wide is the deer. The one pic he doesn’t look real wide. Judging from the pics...it doesn't appear that the buck has an especially impressive spread (I would guess 18-19"). Unlike the Hanson buck that has a 24-1/2" spread and 28" main beams. The strength of this buck...is that it is a typical 8 x 8 and has decent (though not awesome) mass. It's a great buck anyway you look at it.
