I stumbled on that looking for an idea for a kids playhouse. Back to the round bale make the frame like most out of cattle panels, cover with chicken wire. At this point they covered it with burlap soaked in plaster, then they added fiberglass and resin

I would cover the round bale shape with burlap then soak it with fiberglass resin. From past experience with resin and burlap, you are looking at 200 square foot per gallon. A basic 6 foot diameter by 5 foot long, you should get about 2 coats out of a gallon.

Another idea would be to cover the fence panel with carboard, big pieces from an appliance store. Then cover with burlap and fiberglass.

He made the shape out of 1/2: PVC pipe, covered it with paper, then covered it with fiberglass. Because of Phptpbucket issues the pictures suck.

At coffee another person suggested using carboard from appliances like fridge boxes, to cover a frame of 2x2's and then fiberglass. .

What about the smell of the fiberglass resin? Polyester smell is pretty strong. Epoxy not so much.

That's exactly what I was thinking. That smell would be really really strong. I don't know how long it'd have to air out to get rid of that smell. Definitely would not want to be in it for a few hours with that smell or work on it extensively with that smell.

The smell eventually goes away. There are a lot of fiberglass blinds on the market, if the smell was an issue, they would be out of business.

Smells are a learned trait to wild animals. People use hair and what ever to scare off deer, if you use that long enough, and the deer do not associate with danger, they ignore it.start to ignore it. A new strange smell will make them skittish, but given enough exposure to the new smell, they soon start to be just a little wary, but after awhile they will

I just re fiberglassed a floor in my blind coated both sides the smell was gone in 3 days then coated the inside floor with bed liner 4x6

I used a pop up bale blind in Nebraska, it worked well and you can move it easily if needed. I do see how a more permanent one would be handy in the right spot.

Doesn't Double Bull make a portable round bales blind? A buddy was a dealer years ago and I think he had one on display.

I made a hay bale style blind 5 x 9 base out of treated 2x4. Took 2 16' cattle panels side by side rolled over lenthwise. Staple one end on the inside of base 2x4 side. Flex the cattle panel over and tuck staple inside opposite side 2 x 4. Repeat with 2nd cattle panel. Cut angle braces for inside each corner for bracing. took another cattle panel and trimmed out for each end. Cut out windows and door. used cedar fence pickets to frame inside edges of window, corners, length of center roof, door. Covered in 3 mil black plastic from Home Depot. Then covered with old heavy duty 18 wheeler truck tarp. Cut out window openings, cut out door, made a door and covered with same materials. Put it on utility trailer, drove it to lease, placed in desired hunting location, cut fresh cedar and brushed it in. Complete black consealment inside, 2 large office chairs, small table, heater and Caldwell dead shot all stay in the blind. Deer walk right up and don't see us inside. I have less than $100 in the blind. Water proof and very spacious to draw bow standing or sitting. Only thing to add for next season is 5 gallon bucket/lid/trash bags for when ol #2 calls. Pee Jug already installed.

I also have placed multiple pop up blinds, tripods, ladder stands and lock on stands scattered throughout woods on game trails which was the trick this year with all the acorns and very very little feeder activity.
