Has anyone ever heard of or hunted with the 777 Ranch down in Hondo? Good or bad?

Keith Warren Outdoors use to video his shows down there, he was a real big customer. One of the first exotic hunting ranches I ever heard along with the YO Ranch.

I meant the big 777. From what I can tell it's pricey, but they have a lot of mature animals.

Been there. Its very popular. Fine food. Great guide service. You ride around in jeeps that look like a zebra. What you need to know?

How much....always depends on what you want. They don't sell a zebra for the same price as a axis meat hunt or trophy whitetail hunt. I believe they have prices on their website, but you might want to make sure your sitting down before you look at that page.

When there are so many really good ranches to hunt (like doublearrow or Keith Johns Outdoors) why would anybody pay the kinda prices that 777 charge to hunt the same animals?
gun control means hitting what you are aiming at!

I've hunted the 777 three times. They were dove hunts put on by one of my suppliers. For $20 buck tip, we got to run around and look at some good animals. Super professional organiztation, amenities are first rate, guides are first rate.
My only negative is this: When we first went, they had an old metal barn with a bar, lounge, fire pit and some kegs. It was great, we sat around the fire eating big a$$ T-bone steaks, drinking crown and enjoying life. Later that year, it burned to the ground. 777 replaced it with an over the top, elaborate, fully staffed luxury hall. It's MEGA NICE, with some killer mounts and history inside, but it's not what I like.
When we were there for the last time, a father in son hunting team ate with us. They shot two whitetails and 2 or 3 exotics. The guide said their ticket was right at $30K without tip.
Crazy.

Everyone's right - it is expensive. I really want a big sika and I'm having a hard time finding anyone who consistently has good ones.

You want a good BIG sika talk to: Dan Whiteley – Lead Guide/Ranch Foreman Heart of the Lonestar Ranch 13736 County Road 2246 Eden, TX 76837 Mobile: 325-234-9258 Ranch: 325-869-5285 Email: danwhotlr@aol.com Dan is a great guy to deal with. Give him a call and see what he can do for you. I don't have any sika for this year. I think Dan's are something like $1650 plus guide fee.
