One of mine came with those devilish grips. Fortunately Ruger has an online store with many grip options. Mine also went to the trash.

I have 2 blackhawks that I have placed a Hogue 83000 rubber grip on. They are excellent! Bigger, rubber and soft. They fit very well and they only cost me about $20 on Amazon.
It's not what you say, or think, that counts. It is what you DO!

I have the hogue grips on a couple pistols and they are nice but are a bit sticky not in a chemical way but shirts, hair and skin are pulled by them easily if that makes sense. That being said they are comfortable to shoot with. Personally on a single action a nice pair of wood grips are tough to beat imo.

I prefer the stock Rosewood grips, I like the pistol to roll on recoil, rubber or checkering transfers too much into the wrists for me.

Congrat's on a fine revolver. Shot a friend's Vaquero chambered in 45LC. Sweet sweet round.

Ajax use to make some really nice aftermarket grips for the Ruger single actions with and without the Ruger logo medallion. Rumor has it they had to quit the Ruger medallion models at Rugers request. Not sure how true that is but that's what I was told at the gun show years ago. Its a shame because that's the ones I always bought.
