I hate to see this. Fort Worth has MOSTLY been spared the kind of stuff that happens in Dallas. Before it all ends there will be a special group set up to investigate all aspects of Cowtown racial issues with those that make a living out of this stuff on the group.
Without a sense of urgency, nothing ever happens.

afraid I would get the Forum guys mad at me, that's why I said I love cops and I do. It takes a very special person to deal with the crap out there so civi's dont have to.
I said what I said because I have talked to several retired LE's here where I live. They say the quality of RECRUITS has dropped a ton because not many want to pay the price and deal with the crap ya''ll deal with everyday. To some of these its a JOB, NOT a "calling"
I hope you understand what I'm saying. I am very sorry if I stepped in a hole.
PS I'm not drinking You're retired so you should be drinking and stop talking to the old heads. Most of those guys couldn't police today because they aren't photogenic enough. Knowing a few cops and actually working in the field of law enforcement isn't the same. Any recruit who actually seeks this job out should be commended and not looked down upon.

In my first perception of the body cam video it almost looked like an AD. The placement of his weapon and it almost looked still in motion to bring it up to a position to fire and it went off. I seriously thought initially his finger was on the trigger and he had an AD that killed someone.

I seriously thought initially his finger was on the trigger and he had an AD that killed someone. Fox news reported the first release of the video was highly edited. Why not release the unedited version to start with? The FWPD also made a big deal of the gun in the house. This later was kind of dismissed, since it was perfectly legal and a lot of people have guns in their house. Those 2 parts right there make the FWPD look like it is ran by Barney Fife.

I'm having panic attacks while eating ice cream on my couch, and can't look out my windows at home anymore. I need a good lawyer and corrupt doctor so I can get paid.

Police officer claims victim was holding a gun in her home. What do you think is going to happen when you go snooping around someones property unannounced? What a dumb arse, he and the FW PD deserve what they get out of this. Link

I just don't understand how a police officer could be so stupid. I swear this is probably how I will die, if I have someone snooping around on my property, im going out with a gun. Probably an AR. I'll look like swiss cheese by the time they are done.

Why wouldn't she point it at the window if that where the threat is? Where the hell should she have it pointed?

Dear audience, Please don’t listen to the mis information above and don’t shoot at un identified targets because you heard a noise outside your window.

Now hearing it’s the media that has been stating it was a “welfare check” and that it might have actually been called in as a “burglary/open structure” call. That would probably change things a little I’m guessing. Maybe that’s why they parked on the side and didn’t announce themselves. Curious to see how this all plays out.

That would probably change things a little I’m guessing. Maybe that’s why they parked on the side and didn’t announce themselves. Curious to see how this all plays out. I can’t view the link to the star telegram with the audio of the 311 call because I’ve apparently maxed out my views for this month. Here is what the neighbor said on the call, according to Vox: “In audio of Smith’s call released by the police department on Sunday, the man can be heard telling a police operator that the doors of the home had been open since 10 pm Friday and that he was concerned because he did not see any movement in the house.” https://www.vox.com/identities/2019...-police-shooting-texas-aaron-dean-murderEdit: the neighbor told the star telegram that he called the non-emergency police number. James Smith, Jefferson's neighbor, told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram he called a non-emergency police number when he saw her doors open and lights on in the early morning hours. Officers arrived and parked near but not in front of the residence, police spokesman Lt. Brandon O'Neil said Sunday at a news conference. https://www.cnn.com/2019/10/12/us/fort-worth-police-shooting/index.html

So, with all the information we have so far, the headline should read, " woman doing nothing wrong gets shot by police, who were slinking around in her backyard"
Everyone needs to remember it's perfectly okay to have a gun in your house, and even in your hand. You can even point it out the window at people sneaking around in your backyard. Anyone who thinks it's justifiable for the police to shoot them remember that if you ever hear somebody sneaking around in your backyard, it might be the police and they might shoot you for doing nothing wrong.

Dear audience, Please don’t listen to the mis information above and don’t shoot at un identified targets because you heard a noise outside your window. Explain to me what I said that was miss information? Where did I say anything about shooting an unidentified target? But if i'm on alert that something is outside my window, I damn sure wont have my gun pointing at the ground.
