Had a bearded hen show up to my feeder 3 times this weekend. Sucks that fall turkey season hasn’t started yet. Anyone else ever see or shoot a bearded hen?

I just realized I screwed up. I looked at the gun season dates for fall turkey.

I shot one years ago when in college. Since then I have let many of them walk.

Check the regs for your county if there is a Fall rifle season it is included in archery season as far as I know. Guess from your last post you found that bang

I could kick myself for not looking at the seasons more carefully. I shot a 5 bearded turkey last year and liked the oddity of a bearded hen.

I see them every year. We have some very large hen groups and there is usually at least one bearded hen in the mix.

I have been watching this ole gal (I think it is the same turkey) for about four years, she comes by the blind sometimes like she isn't bothered by me at all.
Someone on here once commented that bearded hens make for multi-bearded toms. I have no idea if this true or not.
