You havnt mentioned the size building you want yet. I'll tell you this, $6.50-7.00 sq ft for finished slab and $4.50ish sq ft for erecting the building without knowing the size and how many openings. Then you have the cost of the building but without knowing the size and how many doors and windows I cant give a ball park....

30x40x12 with a 12x40 lean-to that wraps halfway around the front. Starting point of the lean-to will be 12 feet high. 2 roll ups of 12x12 centered on the 30 foot walls, 1 roll up 12x10 on the opposite wall of the lean to towards the back. 1 walk through door under the lean-to. 4 windows. Spray foam insulation. 2:12 pitch roof.

Something like this without the lean-to being dropped under the roof line

This. Spend the extra money and get an overhead door on tracks.

My builder had me pay for the material when it came in and I paid for the rest upon completion. It took them 2 days to finish the building.

This.

I'd pay for the material cost when it's delivered on site, and the rest when it's done. I can't imagine it would take more than a week to build it. I wouldn't give a contractor I didn't know a penny up-front either.

I'm not exactly sure what the spay foam would cost but all the metal, doors and windows should run around $14-15,00.00. Labor would probably be a little higher putting in a hip to make the lean to wrap around.

I went to Mueller and told them what I wanted to build. I bought all of my materials from them, had a slab poured, and had had a welder and 4 helpers build it.

I ordered mine from Ameri Steel out of Sanger. With the engineered drawings I had a contractor pour the slab. After curing, I rented a scissor lift and I and 4 friends bolted it together in two days, including the insulation. I contracted out the garage doors.

Then I would either have to keep my doors closed to allow maximum light without shadows or hand the lights below the doors.

Have them run the rails parallel to the ceiling (angled) and not the floor. Less worry about shadows. With that size building, and if you buy the proper LED fixtures to mount in the middle, it should not be a problem.

That’s a good idea. Will they hold up there like that if they aren’t power?

Sure. They will tension the springs accordingly. The neighbors just had their 40x60 shop done this way and it turned out well....and well lit. If youre concerned about dark spots or shadow, I would look in to a few wall mounted fixtures.

1. Forney is the other side of the world from me.
2. It is now my job to load ammo, shoot rifles, explain this stuff, and spot. My steel fab work is for myself.
3. The forms are on the ground, and cushion sand is in for my own house build. Ain't nobody got time to build a shop two counties away. I know how, I just can't even help right now, too busy. I'd go help Wade if he was doing this 12 months from now.

Check us out if you want a quality rolling door. Manufactured in Dallas and built better than the competition.

yes that type rolling door is a good rolling door you can have them insulated and your going to have the box up top to cover the hole where the birds and air would come into your insulated building but they are very pricey

What did you buy that big a$$ welder and plasma for? need a tape measure? grin

You sure got the time peep

I'd call Mueller get it printed and fabbed and delivered, I'd also use seconds for the sheet, then find a guy that that can put it up,

Up charge should only hit on the labor that way. I bet Mueller can give you a list of good builders as well.

Concrete will have to be a turn key deal
