Her husband did the cooking, and it was great. Chicken with some Italian sauce on it for us, and fake chicken for her. It was interesting hearing what she would and would not eat. She loves Pot Roast, but just eats the veggies. Won’t eat cheese. Loves black eyed peas, but won’t eat it it it was cooked with bacon. Seems odd that pot roast veggies with gravy on it is Ok, but the black eyed peas cooked with bacon is not Ok. She might be Jewish, but I didn’t ask. That would explain the ‘no bacon allowed’ I suppose.

The husband loves chicken wings with buffalo sauce, so for her he fries Tofu and adds the sauce. Sounds awful to me, but she likes it.

She eats and likes the Burger King Impossible Burger and says it’s way better for you than a regular Whopper. Consumer Reports disagrees, but I didn’t mention that. I’ll just quietly stay with meat.

Great couple, and now the wife knows what to cook when they come this way.

I would have found out if she was, in fact, Jewish, but....you don't want me at a dinner party. I grew up with lots of Jewish friends, and I have a teensy bit of Jewish blood, so, no subject is off limits. grin

Won’t eat it if it was cooked with bacon.

Might have more to do with "Pork" than being "Vegan", just sayin...

I can greatly admire a true vegans dedication, but think it’s ludicrous to think we are not meant to eat meat.

I went on a vegetarian diet for our church for about two weeks. My body was not happy but I did have tons of energy. But I would not say it’s sustainable

I dont understand the point if everything they eat is flavored toward some kind of meat. Might as well eat the real thing.

A vegan wouldn't touch vegetables cooked with meat, she sounds like she wants to be vegan but isn't willing to go all in.

Also that impossible burger is something around 30 calories less than an actual whopper.

I don't understand it when the vegans and vegetarians want that meat flavor on their food. What is the point?

A lot of vegans are just putting on a show, kind of like a bunch of Christians. The latter claim to holier than thou, they don't practice what they preach.

Always find it ironically comical that the intellectually advanced humans turn away from the one thing that gave them the ability to evolve and develop the size brain they have.... cooking and eating meat.

Yes, Bill, we will invite them over. Our differences can be ignored. He did suggest that cow farts worsen global warming, but they personally raise cattle. Figure that out. So, unless they tell me they love Elizabeth Warren, we’ll remain friends. They are 20 years younger than us, but we do have some common interests and we like them.

The wife will cook a pot roast for them, and brother can she cook a pot roast, and I will closely watch to see if any actual meat gets consumed by the lady (accidentally or on purpose) or if she slurps some gravy off the veggies. If so, I will not bring attention to a vegan backslide and embarrass her, but I sure will tell you guys. I will be sure that some bread is beside her plate, just in case she goes totally wild and wants to sop up some gravy.

As an aside...have any of you folks ever actually seen or heard a cow fart? I have not.

That meal the husband came pretty close to what my idea was, sounds like he just subbed in chicken for my meatballs. And the meatball recipe I gave you would win against most chicken up
