Hey folks been having some trouble finding public land to hunt for white tail or mule deer this year and was hoping to get some help/advice as the TPW websites are pretty difficult to navigate.
This is the first year I have ever hunted on public land and everywhere I seem to look hunting is by draw or lottery only. Does anyone know where you can go and enjoy the outdoors, hunt, camp for a couple days without being drawn?

Location would help. Also, if you are willing to spend $48 for the Annual public hunting permit, it opens up a lot of country that is not draw hunts. Public hunting maps

Purchase the APH, aka, type II permit. You'll get a WMA book.
Is the book for each region, you can then look to see what each WMA has open.
I do not believe there are any TPWD WMAs open for mule deer that aren't draw hunts. And most of your whitetale non-draw hunts are in east Texas.

Location would help. Also, if you are willing to spend $48 for the Annual public hunting permit, it opens up a lot of country that is not draw hunts. Public hunting maps Their not execative hunts... Depending alone area, most deer hunts are archery only, deer-hog... Uncle Sam & few other big area's around thar offer the gun deer hunts.. read older topic's on here. Only time seen the mule deer hunts were archery draw.... Most WMA's have any legal means hog hunts, tis when did me stalk & hunt, right after archery, learned terran, make notes of scrapes, rubs, trails, sightings, shed, have found several, & other details, & not mess up other hunters deer hunts... Most hunters stay pretty close, dragging, carrying deer out tis hard part... Thar B some awesome deer on WMA. Just do your home work... Back ta basic... Best wish's.. Keep your head held high & your powder dry...
