Used a chicken rub made by fiesta.
Smoked 1 1/2 hours at 200 with apple wood.

Ive fried it and grilled/smoked it before. Never tasted bad, but not something I care to put effort into again.

Long story short is when my mother was small she got bit on the finger by a pygmy rattler. Terrified of snakes. One weekend my parents were out of town and my buddy and I skinned and fried one in one of her cast iron skillets. He told later. She was not thrilled.

So probably a dumb question, but I’m asking anyway. Is removing the head all you need to do to remove any potential venom?
