Saw a total of 7 doe this weekend and 2 hogs. Not bad for a lease that I just got a week ago Friday.
Born to hunt and fish.

A few years back I watched several deer walk right past a pile of corn. Every deer I shot that year was chock full of acorns. Where I hunt now there is one oak tree on the property. Some right over the fence, though

Was really slow for us too in Concho County. A bumper and I mean BUMPER crop of acorns. Almost looks black under the trees there are so many and they are really big. Does were scarce at the feeders, but driving around they would bust out of the oaks. I look at it as free high quality food. Turned the feeders down a little.

The trees at my house that have acorns are loaded, but some of them don't have any at all. Weird to me.
