Checking in from a tree in east Texas. Where are you this morning?
God is deep but he is not complicated.

Shouldn’t you be paying attention to your feeder instead of staring at your phone?

Had 6 deer in front of me this am. One adult doe, two younger doe, two fawns and a Knappy looking spike wannabe around 2.5yo...might have pulled the trigger on him But it isn’t season in Oklahoma yet. Won’t get to hunt opener so I figured I sit and live it up while I am here.
Surprised I saw what I did as I mucked around all day yesterday creating food plots. Just bring the rain now!!
Good luck everyone in Texas and other legal states

I stayed in this morning. May go out this evening , we will see
If not I’ll make it in the morning
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Hot and muggy morning here, with 79 for the low and luckily on 92% humidity. I had 5 does and 1 fawn come in and at barely light had a single deer cross an old road heading east. Not much activity on cams last night either. Found a few acorn on the ground yesterday so that is where they are right now. Not many in those trees either so they won't last to long with deer, hogs and turkey working on them.
Are idiots multiplying faster than normal people?

It was 82 when I left the house this morning at 5 am. Got settled into my popup and my shirt was soaked with sweat. Soon as it got daylight I started seeing deer feeding under the oaks on the acorns. Small bucks, does, and three fawns. Probably about a dozen deer all total, and they were still hanging around at 11 am. when my brother drove up and ran them off. He had some nice bucks he took photos of on his phone. Couple of nice eights and one that had 7 points and a young 13 that would be a monster in a couple years if he doesn't get shot.
Deer or no deer, I'm not going to hunt the evening!......Just too darn hot for this old man!

Thursday at 12:45 PM #33 Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

I have been bow hunting for over 30 years and don't think I ever not went because it was "too hot". It took shoulder surgery last year for me to miss a day of bow hunting.

East Texas. Stayed in the tree stand until noon, didn’t see a thing.
You should have been here yesterday!

Shot a pig at first light and tried to shoot a coyote but it was moving to fast. Pulled the card on my north wind stand and had four bucks this morning at 7:30. Two were borderline shooters for me. Kinda surprised to still see them grouped up.

Thought about it, I’ll go in the morning.
Too hot.
And to be honest I don’t really want a trophy I just want to kill something with my bow, so I can do that here this comming week
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

First bow kill in a couple years. Will let y’all decide if skill or luck.... ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2019/09/full-41571-202245-413c60d8_aee1_40d3_aa0d_f8f595369a58.jpeg)
