I wasn’t going to post anything but I’ve already had multiple inquiries about my supercharger install. For my new 2019 RAM, I went ahead and had a Whipple supercharger installed. I got it back Tuesday. I think if this thing had wings, it would fly! The original power at the rear wheels was 281 HP and 331 torque. With the new Whipple supercharger and 6.2 lbs of boost, it’s pulling 436 HP and 428 torque, at the rear wheels!! With factory motor internals, you don’t want to go over 7 lbs of boost. The Whipple can handle a little over 20 lbs of boost, so I’m only using about a third of available boost. I was looking at the ProCharger supercharger also, but that unit is different. It needs rpms to generate its power, and has what they call turbo lag. The Whipple is more instant, and generates full boost immediately without the lag so you get more torque quicker.

Clint and the guys/gals over at True Street in McKinney did the install. That shop is freakin’ awesome! They have a great crew and very good customer service! The vehicles they work on are amazing.

Dodge/RAM now offers a factory warranty with these upgrades and is covered under warranty. I would not have done this if it was not covered. When I purchased the vehicle, I added the optional coverage for the supercharger and lift kit( if I want to at some point). So far, I am more than pleased with this upgrade. I've been wanting to do this for 3 trucks now, and this was kind of a gift to me.

The stock air box pulls the coolest air available. It’s the piping from the box to MAF that’s usually restrictive

It's an upgraded box, but in the same location. It has an upgraded air filter also, similar to the K&M. And you want to pull in as cool of air as possible.

He did a Power Wagon with 6.4L the week before mine. The PW had 35" tires, and gas 6.4L engine. He said mine put out 37 more HP and 40 lb ft of torque more than the PW did, but he installed a Pro Charger on that motor. He said the drive train for the PW is for a diesel, but with a gas engine, and the power curve is different. Plus, the larger tires didn't help either. The PW looked real good though. I almost bought one of those, but I never need the 3/4 ton. 1/2 ton works great for me.

Badass Chad. I've always wanted to supercharge a truck as well....now you are making me want it even more. Those are big numbers.

I can't wait to ride in it. I have a buddy with a 2017 Raptor and a tune that he says added 100+ horsepower. I've ridden in it and it's quick but I've always been a "no replacement for displacement" kind of guy. Happy for you, I know you've wanted this.

The difference between the Whipple setup and the ProCharger is the ProCharger is designed for higher rpm driving, hence the feel of lag off the start.

Both have their respective place. Chad made the right decision for daily driving and power where it counts without sacrificing drivability.

Apples to apples you'll see around 500+hp and 500tq to the rear wheels on the 6.4.

super chargers and pro chargers are mechanically driven. both are designed to give instant response. turbos lag

From this point forward I will think of you as Mr Whipple. Congratulations on your new truck setup! As an old Street/Yellowbelly/Green Valley racer from back in the day, I am jealous.
