Rat got into my new Mule and ate up some wiring to the tune of about 450. We have a container on the lease that we keep stuff in, but nothing of value. Has no air ventilation so condensation is bad. East of B/CS a few miles. Floor has a hole where a varmint has eaten in through plywood, so we cant even store our corn in there. I want to leave mule in it through season and not just under a shed as before.
Question: Would it be feasible to to lay flashing or sheet metal down on existing plywood flooring, then lay plywood on top of that and screw it all together for a new floor so to speak. We don't care what it looks like at all. It would be easier than pulling old up and replacing new. Obviously vents need to be put in for air flow. Foam sprayed to fill cracks along edges of flooring.
Is this feasible to accomplish what I am trying to do? I'm trying to spend a couple hundred rather than a couple thousand. Any suggestions much appreciated. My Mule and pocket book thank you.

That's exactly what you can do, screw flashing down and throw down new plywood. Put a whirly bird on the roof and a vent in the door. Good to go.

They make side vents also. Was just looking at them online. About $75 each. I'm going to order one for our quail camp. We have a regular door and window unit ac at one end, I figure I need to put a vent at the other end at the top.
Haven't had it in years but never spit any out. I am a sucker for happy endings and strapped cowboys.

I saw a guy on Youtube that did this. 2" hole saw cut into ribs fit perfect. He put 10 of them in. The vents are $6 for 6. Put a couple down low to help air flow. That way you dont have to spend $$$ on whirlybird and cutting correctly overhead. I think it wil work and if not, then I can do the other vents.

jr22, those 2” vents will work well but only if you have a way to move the air through and out of the unit. Your place in Kurten?

Use the green zip board for the floor, and add solar vents

Home Depot sells a solar attic fan that mounts on a turbine vent base. Put one at one end of the roof and a vent in the other end wall.

Use urethane caulk and gasketed roofing screws to mount vents on outside.

So are you saying it's gonna need a whirly bird also. Aint got no way to get electricity to it. I really was hoping that 10 of those vents would let enough air flow to keep condensation out and not rot parts of the mule. I will not leave it there when summer comes around.

The whirlybirds don’t need electricity.

The whirlybirds don’t need electricity. I understand that. It's just a large hole has to be cut in the top of the container and it aint flat. Didn't want to have to go that route, but I may have to if I cant figure something else out to move air. I thought just having the 10 or more of the louvered vents would be enough, but apparently not by everyone else's comments.

The more ventilation the less condensation
