Been a long time Ram guy (past 6 trucks have been Rams...loved the 3/4 tons..not completely pleased with the 1/2) and its time for a change.

All things considered I’ve got it narrowed down to a 2019 F150 XLT 4WD and a 2019 1500 LT Texas Edition 4WD. Thoughts and opinions? Price is about the same - Chevy has a couple more bells and whistles.

Leaning towards the Ford because we are also upgrading the wife’s Cherokee to an Explorer and it’d be easier to do a one stop in and out for both vehicles. Chevy won’t deal enough to make a Tahoe work and she hates the traverse.

Appreciate the feedback on the trucks. Only Chevy I’ve owned was my first vehicle - an ‘84 K5...had an ‘06 F150 for a little while and an 06’ F250 for a shorter while (got stolen and I sold it when it was recovered two weeks later).

Been a F150, 4x4 owner since 2016 and love the 3.5L Ecoboost, couldn't see myself in anything else, great power on road and plenty in pasture.

We have thousands of Fords and thousands of GM's at work. I've driven both of them, various models, for 24 years. I'll never ever spend a penny on a GM/Chevy product ever again.

You must have never had ramboxes. I can't have a truck that doesn't have them. I'm on my 2nd Ram, both had ramboxes but the current one has 3.21 gears and I hate it. 3.92s are where it's at.

I like fords better than the GMs. But neither of those have ramboxes.

I’ve become a big fan of the Fords. Said I’d never buy another GM because of how good the last few Fords have been, but somehow the wife talked me into a Yukon a little over a year ago. Its not bad, but I miss my Ford. The ecoboost was a beast and IMO the interior fit and finish is better too... all around, it’s just a tighter driving truck with less rattles and slop. Kinda like a rem 870 Vs a mossberg 835.

F150. Get the optional 3.73 gears. You can thank me later.

My work truck is a F150. Strong truck. The 150s and 250s we use take a lot of abuse and a lot of miles.

I'm partial to older GM pickups but would not hesitate to own a Ford pickup.

I've got a 2018 F-150 XLT Sport with a 5.0 and 10 speed auto. I love it. The Sport model has the console gear shift and real good seat covers. 23 MPG on the road.

I have a 2015 F150 XLT crew cab 3.5 Eco. Also still have a Ram reg cab. Brother has a 2016 Sport 4x4 2.7 Eco lifted with 34s.

Both have plenty of power. Both get about 21 real mpg city. 23 to24 mpg.
Both trailer well at about 16 0r 17 in tow mode.

I think the turning radius is a bit large, but backs a trailer well. If fact backs a trailer better than my Ram.

Drove and worked out Rams, Chevy and Fords. So I am not really dedicated to one brand.

Of those two, the Ford.
I have a buddy who had two engines go bad in his last two Chevys.

He's driving a F250 now.

I just can't make myself pull the trigger on a Dodge yet but I really like those Ram Boxes, they're perfect for what I do. Hard for me to walk away from the GM 6.2 and 420 hp. They better get some boxes on their trucks quick. Years ago there was a company that would install built in boxes I had 4 put in and loved it. Gave me allot more room to actually throw something in the back without having to rearrange.

I've had two 6.2's so far and love to brag about the HP but the big Ford V-6 Eco Boost has it bested by a few HP. Did I just call a V-6 big? What's the world coming to. Had a big 6 in my old dirt tracker, Chevy 292 straight 6, bored and stroked to 327 with an Offenhauser 3-2 barrel intake. I think the Holleys on top were 350 cfm. Fast around the track but really nice in the turns, torque on the old straight sixes was easy to control. The V-6's just don't feel the same.

I really like the 3.5 Eco Boost...we rented an Expedition Max a few months ago and I was super impressed with the motor.

I saw a new Ram the other day and for a second, I thought it was a Ford. Really similar from the outside.
