Wow. In Dallas on peavy rd. about 3 houses down from Buckner where mockingbird changes name to peavy. If you find yourself in that area go by and take a peak. There’s a park across the street you can pull in and take some time looking at it. [Linked Image]

I think the blue thing on the roof is a real nice weather station.
I bet there is a pool in the back.
When I have more time I might just go knock
On the door and ask the owner for som more details about the construction. I’m betting he saved some decent $ utilising that method of construction.

From what I've heard there are no savings using shipping containers for construction, but I dont think this guy was worried about saving money.

It’s not for me (certainly not for my wife) but it’s interesting.

that had to cost some serious coin if he had all those containers cut to open them up. then you still have to frame the inside walls for sheetrock.

looks good but I can think of a lot of other designs that I like better.

Clearly not worried about hail damage.... rofl

I think it’s pretty darn neat....that would make a fantastic beach/bay house....figure it would be very storm proof welded on top of concrete piers...

Really like it.... cheers

I assumed that was to cover the a/c ductwork-good idea.

Overall I bet this guy didn't save over normal construction.

It's over $1.2m, doubt they were concerned with cost savings....

I ran across this last year. Very intresting.

If the 2nd amendment was written just to include guns for hunting, why is there not an amendment to protect fishing poles?

I just got home and left the metro mess 312 miles behind me.
By the end of the 3 weeks I finally had re-learned how to drive in that mess.

Had to give Bill his props and will reply to the rest of you guys after I catch some z’s but will say thanks for the info.
I had no idea. Just thought that was a cool house I drove by multiple times from my buddies house.

Someone finally posted it... I love that place. Been driving by that daily since it started being built. I have a container at the lease that is nicer than most houses for 1/30th the price but same stuff inside in a tiny version. Sent to a few folks on here who say nice and thanks... Then have one themselves which is great but my buddy architected the ultimate one. If you will be at lease 5+ years you really need to do a container. It doesn't depreciate and can be moved anywhere. Ours looks good as new and it is 5 years old.

And that didn't just pop overnight. It took years in the making. And years finishing it. Overlooks White Rock Lake. Which some of our kids boat and fish in actually and have a great time. Though not eat them... sick
