So, They going to destroy all of it since you can't return Ammo? If they'll discount it enough I'll destroy it for them.

Id imagine they will pull it all instead of discounting it. If they should discount it, you want to be sure and get there before the guy who buys every box so he can flip it. Seen it happen more than once. They will discount it. Time to stock up

Walmart has an inventory system that is sophisticated there will be very little in any of their warehouses. What is left will probably be returned to the wholesalers. The no refund issue is probably not the same between retailers and wholesalers as it is between retailers and customers.
Even if they did destroy the remaining stock, the dollar is so small that it won't hurt their bottom line.
A boycott? You are wasting your breath even mentioning it. Non gun owners out number gun owners, then add back the gun owners that don't care, and the negative effect will be ZILCH, ZERO, NADA!!!

They will deep discount it. They’re will not pull it. I made out like a bandit when they decided stainless and synthetic was bad.

So I guess the only people carrying at Walmart will be the ones you Do Not want carrying, you know the criminals.

If your Walmart is anything like the one by me, there wasn't much ammo there to begin with. The ammo section at ours never recovered after the last scare. Plus there is never anyone at the counter to help you even if you wanted to buy anything.
Thanks, Rich

ITs just too bad they didn't have the no carry policy in place before the mass shooting in El Paso. It could've saved a lot of lives.

Can someone explain "short Barrel" ammo for me? Never heard that term before.

This is what I was told here. They don't care about concealed carry, just open carry.

You can't buy ammo at Walmart, there's never anybody in the sporting goods area to buy it from.

Actually, the letter from Walmart did specifically address concealed carry. Specifically stated that there would be no change to their policy of concealed carry where legal. In other words, if you can carry concealed legally, continue to do so. Based on what some of the idiots have done recently with open carry in walmart to "test" them, I do not blame walmart. Now, their reasoning for not selling certain kinds of ammo is just idiotic.

Ammo producers will likely keep producing the same amount of ammo and just shift it to their remaining retail sellers and bulk ammo suppliers. It likely will become harder to buy single boxes but 500 to 1000 rounds might even get easier.

I’m a regular only because of the decent price on Federal 9mm 200 round pack. Would usually buy something else while there but nothing I can’t get easily elsewhere so my money spent there will be much less.
I won’t say boycott because if I need something there I’ll go there. That 200 count Federal beats any price I have found. I always buy what they have when I go in there. Just the brass case stuff though.

Good question considering it too is often used in handguns. My guess it only includes the stated "AR-type" and center-fire handgun ammo. No rim fire but again that's only a guess.

I got some clarification: Walmart is not banning open carry, they are simply requesting that people don't open carry. If the person says they're doing it anyway and they're not doing anything else, they will be free to continue shopping.

I stopped at the Walmart in Seagoville on the way home and clerk at the firearms counter had no idea that they were no longer going to be selling hand gun ammo. So it’s a little early to see if it’s going to be put on clearance.

It likely will become harder to buy single boxes but 500 to 1000 rounds might even get easier. Someone taking a more level-headed view of the decision by the world's second largest retailer to no longer sell handgun and AR-type ammo. Amazon has never sold ammo and boycotting Walmart is going to have little if any impact on their bottom line. With both of these now out of the customer's supply chain, prices are very likely to increase. Whatever the case, if you should happen to need to buy some handgun and AR ammo and it's after 5pm in small town America, you'll going to soon be screwed. But then, who knows, maybe Dollar General or Family Dollar will add it to their store shelves.
