MexicoHunter, those are some nice looking deer. I hunt a small place just south of Santa Anna in SE Coleman county. We have had some nice bucks on camera too. However, this year hunting was bad. We just didn't see anything all year. Hopefully with a good off season and some decent weather we have a great 2019. Good luck to you!

These were taken August and September on our place. The one with me and the deer hanging was taken 2 years ago off of our place.

Didn't see him in person this year. Saw him last year but never had a shot. He disappeared once the season started. Still on the lookout for him. Haven't checked any of the cameras in a few weeks to see if he's been back.

Made a quick day trip out to Ivie today to fill feeders and check cameras. Just a few decent ones.

How's everyone's place in Coleman looking? Haven't had much action on the cameras so far, but figure that will pick up in the coming weeks.

A ton of good looking bucks on camera. All of them are still in velvet. Hogs have vanished the past 2-3 months. Should be a good year!

Wow MexicoHunter70! Those are some really nice bucks. Look similar to some that we have had on our place in the past. Unfortunately, this year has been really slow on camera in SE Coleman County. What part of the county are you guys in? Hoping we see an increase in activity over the next few weeks.

Anyone got any reports or pics to share ? We went last weekend and finished a few odd jobs . Glad to report Big O still has some good grub and as good of pie as I’ve eaten. And with it being as dry as it is the deer seem to be hitting the feeders plenty hard . I put out a little rice bran so will see what they think of that.

Hey Matt, looks like things are going to work for you guys. I'm thinking it could be an expensive season. The rains came at the right times. It helps to have a taxidermist in the family.

Thank you guys for the comments, they mean a lot. Mother nature was very kind to us this year, even though we haven't received much moisture since mid July. This should be a year to remember. Dinner, and sharing some stories at Big O's sounds like some good memories...

Since this will be our groups first season in Coleman county. To all of you veteran Coleman county hunters if you had to pick a 2-3 day window this season to hunt the rut what days would those be. Not sure it makes much difference but we are in the Southwest corner of the county close to lake Ivie.
