Whataburger claims it is not a fast food restauarant and that all items are cooked to order. I am fine with that myself but sometimes it. takes. forever.

It seems like since the carpetbaggers from up north bought in forever is now like forever and a week.

Their burgers are eh, but their breakfast is da bomb. That Taquito or Sausage Egg and Cheese Biscuit on the way to a morning hunt is directly responsible for many filled freezers over the years.

It will do if nothing better is around.

That is what I found as well, some places are very good and others are pretty bad.

If I am craving a fast food burger, I will go to In and Out in Frisco, I have yet to have a better burger.

They are building a Freddy's near me so will give it a shot when it opens

I enjoyed Freddy's the one time I went, though I do dislike their style of fries.

So you wrote them telling them how bad their burger was and their response was.....here, have 6 more of them for free?

Worst burger I ever ate part of was at a Wendy’s in central Louisiana. I emailed their corporate folks and they offered a coupon for another burger. I guess that’s the standard reply for a food complaint - here...have some more. Haven’t been back to a wendy’s But once in the 3 years since.

As for Whataburger, the wife likes their burgers. I think they are Ok, but not great. I prefer Sonic’s burgers. And Freddy’s has a decent burger, but their fries are awful. The fries are so bad that they are a deal killer, and I don’t go there any more.

Note: I just sent a note to Feddy’s Corporate to request that they consider offering better fries. Might as well tell them how I feel. Probably they’ll come back with “we love our fries, and would you like a free burger”. If so, I will decline the burger and restate my feelings about their awful fries.

Hopefully you also had the frozen custard...? The wife and I hit Sandy's every time we're in Austin. And yes, I still eat a Dbl. Whataburger with cheese, pickles and onions. Who cares who owns it? I bet most of us drive Ford, Chevy, Dodge or Toyota and they're not from the "south". Get over it.

Freddy’s responded to my note. They say that after market testing, they felt that the skinny stick fries complemented their Steakburgers best, as compared to waffle cut or fatter fries. They didn’t offer me a free burger. I responded with the suggestion they might consider offering an alternate type fry to see how the market responded, because I consider their choice of fries to be a deal killer.

Freddy’s remains off my acceptable burger list. But that’s Ok. The world is full of burger joints.

bad fries is a deal breaker and as you say, there's a burger on every corner.

I'd rather them have waffle fires, even though those shoe string fires and waffle fries are both at the bottom of acceptable fries for me.

Had WB for lunch, the burger was still good, fries were a touch old but ok.

Had WB for lunch today - but I got grilled chicken with cheese, bacon, grilled jalapenos, and grilled onions. Delicious.

I went to Freddies once. The steakburger was mechanically tenderized (ok, really it looked like it was chewed). It was paper thin, dry, and burnt throughout. Is this what you guys that like or was mine a fluke? The place was packed.

Yes, the fries are bad. I can't believe they sell them.

Simply disgusting and so are the people workin in that nasty place
The bathrooms alone are equal to them 7/11 bathrooms on my way to Amarillo, sticky and smelly

It seems that every time I go, no matter at what time, there is a full blown softball team in front of me resulting in sugar hyped annoying kids taking forever to order to yet all of them change their order 2-3 times.

Whataburger over that nasty place every time. At some point in the late 1990’s papadeaux changed.... red lobster is better.
