We had out Mr Connor from Ireland for his first trip to Texas and his only second time to the USA for a hog hunt.
He talks about how he loves America and our gun laws. Over in Ireland they don't have handguns and it takes 3-4months plus land owners permission just to purchase a shotgun. He said they are allowed to hunt deer at night as they are eating crops and such. It really makes you appreciate your country just a little more when you hear it from other people that are not from here talk about how great your country is.
Have y'all ever met other hunters from other countries? If so what are some of the stories or laws they have that are different from here?

What guest from other countries also find amazing is just how common 200 - 1000 acre properties are.

I have taken Chinese friends hog hunting. You can't imagine the excitement they feel when they learn to shoot a firearm or see a wild animal.

Hunt Dog is right. They are amazed at the concept of private property and the size of it.

I had a hunter from New Zealand come hunt hogs on my place

The govt of NZ builds little cabins up in the mountains for hunters to hunt
no feeders, no ATVs, no landowner permit...… real hunting

he hikes up the mountain, sometimes he gets dropped from helicopters, eat what 's in his backpack,
shoot deer then pack the animal down from the mountain, on his back

to me that's real hunting... what we do here in Texas is harvesting

I am guilty of having private land, feeders and fancy fiberglass blinds and HONDA UTV for transport

I've had hunters from Colorado and Utah made fun of me "you Texan hunters don't know how to hunt.... complete with chewbaco lips and twangs.... "

We, as individuals, manage our land, and part of that management is harvesting. And another part of that stewardship and management is that the overall deer population in Texas is several times larger than it was 100 hundred years ago.

Yes sir if it's a first timer or someone that has very limited experience if I'm in the stand with them I'll give them 1 round at a time.

That's awesome! In my youth that would have been on my bucket list to do some real primitive hunting. Since I have a bum leg I guess I'll have to scratch that one off.

I'm more into killing than hunting anyway lol
