So the texas rig thread reminded me of a tip I thought was worth sharing.
If your using light weights and are out on a windy day and your dekes are blowing away. Step on the weight and push it down into the mud and even a 2-3oz weight will hold in 20-30mph winds. This works best in knee deep or less water and with smaller spreads. But just something to consider if you find yourself in the situation.
What are some of your tips to make life easier?

Never, ever shoot at the first solo duck coming in. EVER.

I use 1.5oz weights and less, never have an issue, even on windy days, but I always set up in wind protected spots, I have a bigger issue with wind not blowing my deeks around enough, even on windy days. Only time my deeks float off is because water too deep. With that, my tip is teach your dog to retrieve decoys...come in very handy when deeks float off..
