Lot of talk about Daks contract negotiations. Speculation suggests he wants over 30 million a year. There is no way I would pay him that.
I hope the Cowboys don’t do a long term deal with him.
He has had 2 of 3 good years. That was with the leagues leading rusher.
Comparisons of what he wants.
Matthew Stafford, Detroit: $29.5 million 2. Kirk Cousins, Minnesota: $29 million 3. Andrew Luck, Indianapolis: $27.5 million 4. Tom Brady, New England: $27 million 5. Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay: $26.5 million 6. Russell Wilson, Seattle: $26.2 million 7. Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh: $26.2 million 8. Cam Newton, Carolina: $23.2 million 9. Eli Manning, New York Giants: $23.2 million 10. Philip Rivers, Los Angeles Chargers: $23 million

I think he'll get a new contract but less than 30 million per year.
I like him but he's good, not great.

I wish they would trade him to the Chargers for Rivers, at least Rivers might have a shot at a Super Bowl appearance. All they have to do is contact the guy in the front office who traded Breeze because he was washed up.

Simple 500k a year
1 million per regular game win 5 million per play off game win 10 million per Super Bowl win
It’s time for NFL to go back to commission

That makes perfect sense. Not a chance in hell he deserves more than the QBs listed above.

One has to consider as the salary cap grows the next one signed is almost always the largest contract. However I dont want him or Zeke signed long term. If Zeke holds out and Dak proves he can win without him by all means pay him. If you feel like the team needs Zeke for Dak to be effective then you cant pay him that type of money and be prepared to compete at the top for years to come.
A couple of considerations, is Jason Garrett the coach moving forward, can Kellen Moore be the answer at OC, will Garrett give Kellen enough rope to be successful. The Cowboys are built to run the football but the NFL has become a passing league. The league does not pay RB's in their current role. It is a position by committee.

Roll Tide, I don't those numbers are accurate. Russell Wilson just signed a huge extension that makes him the highest paid, next is Big Ben.
Here's an updated list.....https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/rankings/average/quarterback/
I see both sides. One side is, if you need a $14 Million RB to win, then you don't have a $30 Mil QB. And $30 Mil for the 10th-12th best QB in the NFL seems outrageous. But at this point, that is the market. The salary cap has risen over 20% just in the last 3 years.
On the other hand, when the extensions were signed by Stafford, Luck, and others the cap was much lower, and they have a lower QB rating than Dak for the first 3 seasons of their careers.
Wentz just signed an extension for $32 Mil per year, and he's missed 10 games the past two seasons. Yes, Wentz is probably better but he's injury prone. Remember there's only about 18-20 guys in the entire world who are good NFL QB's, and Dak is in that group. It's the most demanding and hardest job in all of sports.
I think Dak gets $32-34 Mil and when the others come up for new contracts they will be approaching $40 Mil.

I like that. Still overpaid for the amount of playtime they see compared to other sports, that are much better to watch. Watching football is like watching paint dry, it only gets exciting for a few seconds when you have a run.

Dak would ask, "how many playoff games has Wentz won?"....As he drops the mike and walks off the stage.
Thursday at 12:45 PM #33 Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

Great points and some goofy.
my take echos others
1. Dak's good, not great 2. Dak (Cowboys)cant win without Zeke and Amari 3. Pay Dak $30 and a $10 million Bonus if HE WINS the Super Bowl, same with everybody, these guys need to feel real world incentive (results) based pay.
i hate this part of the game. yea, yea, its a business, get all you can but give me a break

Dallas took that ugly girl from the bar home, and got comfortable with her because she cooks and cleans. Now she want to get married, and they dont have a plan B.

Let's not forget that agents, many of which couldn't throw a tight spiral more than 20 yards (if at all), have much to do with what players ask for.

There needs to be more people like Brady. Took less than what "he's worth" so the money could be spent elsewhere. All these quarterbacks are about me me me instead of we we we. If I was a QB, I'd definitely say pay me less and get me some protection upfront.
I also wish all sports were commission based. I think they'd all compete better since the only thing these entertainers care about is money.
