I feel like this topic has been beat to death, but in searching, I could not find specifics on the three scopes that I am looking at. This will be going on my T/Cr22. All three have FFP, all three will focus down to at least 25 yards.
Nikon Prostaff 5 - $359 - i hate the BDC reticle so even if you tell me to get this one, I probably won't Vortex Diamondback tactical FFP - $349 Athlon Talos FFP Mil - $299
I have heard good things about Athlon helos and the higher priced Athlons, but nothing on this one. I was looking at staying with MOA, because that is what I am used to (Jason, I've heard it already. I know...) but the Helos only comes in MIL. I'm not extremely worried about clarity all the way up to 25 or 30x because it's just going on a .22. I am looking for good tracking.
Of the three above, which would you choose...or, if you have one in mind in the same price range, what is it?

Good tracking costs money.
I was laughed at for putting my NF ATACR on my .22lr for the match. I wasn't laughed at when the match was over. 200 yards IS LONG RANGE for a .22 lr.
Upgrade a centerfire scope, put it in good rings on a 20 MOA rail. Put a 20 MOA rail on your .22 lr.

I put an extra Leupold VX3 4.5-14 on my Tikka T1X. It has the Varmint Hunter reticle. Works great. That said, I also have a Vortex Viper PST FPS 4-16 that is presently inactive. I might give it a try on the 22. I could pick the preferred ammo, which I haven't officially done yet, and dial for varmints with a bit more precision than I have now.
Not my monkeys, not my circus...

He’s right.
It’s going to cost more than that.
Never been to a camping world. I prefer Dick's to be honest.

It’s going to cost more than that. He knows what is up!!! I do not have an ATACR but I have an XTR II that will be making it's way to a .22 platform in due time

No, I would not bet on their tracking and return to zero.

One other option: SWFA 3-15 SFP can be had around $400. Your reticle will only be accurate at 15x, but you're probably going to be at 15x when shooting at distance anyway. Actually a pretty decent variable power long range scope for a 22.

Thanks for the replies. A single power scope isn't what I want. I want to be able to go to the pond and shoot turtles at 10-75 yards, and then take it to the .22 competittion and use it there too.

Now, I am contemplating getting a NF SHV F1 for my 6.5CM and taking the Vortex off of it for the .22. It'll take me a while to save up that much $$$$...

I have the Athlon on my 10-22 and it works great. The most important aspect in my opinion is not tracking. You can simply use the mil marks on the reticle instead of dialing. The reticle is accurate at all power settings and the focus knob works great all the way down to 5 yards.
