While I know a little about a lot and a lot about a little, the concept of the math in making a deer funnel is killing me. Can someone send me a template, diagram or just real stooped simple numbers for making a funnel for a 55 gallon barrel feeder? I refuse to spend $20 (or more) on something that I can make

no diagrams but I have used wide roof valley flashing to form a cone shape the diameter to fit down in a barrel, just pop rivets to attach.

I have used feeders with and without funnels. Nice thing about a feeder without a funnel is you can shake down a days worth of hunting before you refill. Kind of like a small reserve.

Does that "R14 1/4" mean "Radius = 14 1/4 inches?" I have looked at that diagram a ton and never could figure out that little detail.......

I have seen one made by American Hunters years ago like that one in the photo that retailed for around $12. It was made out of 3 pieces that were predrilled to put together to fit in 30 gallon and 55 gallon drums. Came with metal screws to put it together. IIRC they also made the one piece one like in the photo that was predrilled also for screws. They made them like this for shipping and less labor on their end. Made out of light gauge galvanized flashing.
