But wasn't about to pay Area 419 money for a funnel set. I don't know if it was a shot show report or something else but I saw the new Lyman set. I'll give them a thumbs up and affordable. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2019/08/full-11282-195751-3a64db3b_d4ec_4cdb_80ee_d5619d54ff59.jpeg)

Look pretty good. I can say my plastic Lyman funnel is the most versatile one I have ever used.

You're right. I do need that set, and it needs to be stored in ome of the truck toolboxes.

Please educate me. I've been hand loading for about 40 years and never heard of caliber specific funnels. Why and what are the benefits?

No spilled powder like using a funnel that is significantly larger than the case mouth.
Faster flow of powder instead of using a funnel with a much smaller opening than the case mouth. A funnel that goes over a 338 case mouth, but has a 22 cal opening, for example.

I use several of the Frankfort Arsenal funnel kits and they work great. The FA kit has many more caliber options, plus the drop tube. I like it a lot.

Worst looking beer funnel ever. That's what I was thinking as well! Nice set, Judd. I would be interested to hear how it works for you after you use them for a while. That is one thing my bench is missing and it is a bit of a pain to tap in a large charge of extruded powder in some of the bigger cases.

Pour the powder in the funnel so that it swirls down into the tube. You will no longer fight getting a full load of H-Retumbo or H-1000 into the big cases.

And here I thought Judd was sneaking pictures from Hooters again.

I got the 419 kit pretty cheap and really like it a lot. Only downside I've found is rl23 likes getting stopped up in it requiring a little tap before removing.

Nice set, Judd. I would be interested to hear how it works for you after you use them for a while. That is one thing my bench is missing and it is a bit of a pain to tap in a large charge of extruded powder in some of the bigger cases. Thanks, I've had them since February and have been waiting to form a solid opinion prior to posting. I will say I don't like big guns and recoil so I've not put a lot of "fat" powders down them...I have some RL33 and it's worked well but I've only loaded about 20-30 shells with that powder. I had an issue where the AutoTrickler V2 would clog up with RL33 but not the funnel....I'm typically a slow pour person anyway....I don't just dump the powder pan in the funnel. I upgraded to AutoTrickler V3 and need to try the fat powder in it to see if it's better than V2. I've got some to load so I'll probably try that in the next week. Worst looking beer funnel ever. I just had a high school flashback...that was funny
