My daughter is house sitting in north San Antonio and sent me this photo. A neighbor out there took it. Not the best photo but all I have. The photo was taken just outside of 1604 near NW Military. The neighbor went out and checked the track after it left and it was close to the size of his open hand. No bobcat made that.

Average size of a bobcat track is around 1 1/2" X 1 3/4" and a mountain lion is about 4' X 3 1/2". This one was around 4". Mountain lions have been reported around Stone Oak with is just a few miles east of this one. Several time one has been seen at Eisenhower Park which is about a mile away. Last year one was seen around UTSA several times. I don't think that a bobcat has ever left a track this size.

A 4” wide track is typically a mountain lion...... that pic looks like a Bobcat to me.
Never been to a camping world. I prefer Dick's to be honest.

I can't tell from the photo, y'all may be right. I asked my daughter to see if they could get a photo of the track with a ruler next to it. They also call a Game Warden about it.

There is a HUGE difference between a mature lion track and a mature bobcat. While it is possible for there to be a lion in that area, that is a photo of a bobcat. Back in the '60s, my hunting buddy and Medina County Game Warden, August Timmerman caught a lion at Helotes that was killing hogs, domestic ones. Ironically, Mr. Timmerman also hunted with my Grandfather in the '40s. Adios, Gary

Well the Bobcat people might be right. From a biologist for the state, "Most likely a bobcat" . But they want a photo of the track. Hopefully they can still find the right track.

Exactly, Unless its a kitten, Ive never seen one with prints that small. And that picture is clearly 100% a bobcat. I don't even see how someone could think it shows something else.
