The wife has given me the go ahead for a new pistol. I have been looking at the Kimber micro 9 and the Springfield 911. Cabelas is having a sale on both and wanted to see if anyone has personal experience with ether. Thanks,

I have a Micro 9 and it shoots whatever I feed it. I like the size fits easily in my pocket and is surprisingly accurate at 15 yards. No issues.

I’m partial to the kimber but looked at both. With the Springfield being so new that’s what made my decision to go with the micro 9. Although the price on the 911 right now has made it seem like a good idea.

I have a friend that's got the Kimber and he likes it. If you do go to Cabela's to get it and you're here in Texas, you'll probably be able to get in on their 2nd Amendment Savings which takes off 8.25%. You'll basically get it tax free. Good luck!

I've got both. Zero issues. If you go with the Springer, swing by Academy. They have it on sale for $349.00, plus thru Saturday you'll get another $20.00 off your purchase of $100.00 or more.

do these guns function well enough to bet your life on? I have my pocket carry purchase narrowed down to one of these OR a 6 shot ultralight .38+P revolver.

I have the Kimber with lasergrips. Found it used at Cabelas, and it was really good price.
Things to consider. Micro 9 looks like a 1911, but it isn't. Safety doesn't lock the slide. No grip safety.
Micro 9 feeds flawlessly, shoots great, and I trust it.

Thanks everyone, I ended up getting the Kimber, it felt good in my hands and the included laser grips were a plus. Now I just need to find some time to get it to the range.

My dad was carrying that kimber. He’s older and didn’t really test it out, when he did he had mutiple jams. Gave it to me to check out and I found that a (soft grip) would cause it not to cycle. And that was with 6 different loads from bulk ammo, to factory defense rounds to my hot reloads. However all those rounds fed fine with a firm grip. It’s not his carry gun anymore. Test that thing in multiple situations and weak side shooting ext before you end up in a situation where you need it.
