It's an awesome thing when you get confirmation from the Good Lord that you're in the right place for this season of life, and on a smaller scale, that your son is in the right baseball camp.

Kentucky's head baseball coach is a class act and runs a first class program. In the summers, the program, along with coaches from local colleges and high schools, host several boys' baseball camps. To his credit, while the camp does focus on baseball skills, the most important lessons are on how to be a good human being.

First lesson: RESPECT... how to stand and pay the proper respect to our nation, our colors, and our anthem- and to those who never came home. My cup runneth over.

Coach Mingione is absolutely a class act and glad he's leading the program of my alma mater. They took a little step back this year after a couple seasons of being ranked in the top 5 at some point during the year. Good news is that success allowed them to build beautiful new facilities. I feel like they will consistently be a top 20 program for the foreseeable future.

The UK athletic facilities are second to none of any that I've seen. I'm talking biometric security systems, retinal scanners, the works. I'm sure the other big(ger) programs are world class as well, but I've never really been behind the scenes at other places. The amount of money involved in collegiate athletics is mind boggling.
