This pistol has always interested me but never bought one or shot one, that was until my brother gave me one. Took it out a few days ago and put 100 rds through it. First impression is how well it fits the hand. The little finger still gets a decent grip and that's important (Talk about that latter). I'm picky about triggers and I can deal with this one, it's fine for what this pistol is designed for.The double action is heavy but usable, it's smoothness helps (That can be improved pretty easy). Sights were damn close at 15 yards, I was still hitting a few things at 50 yards, well past what it's designed for. The grips I'm sure allot of people would like but I just don't like rubber grips, I think you can get factory wood for it. I like smooth grips on heavy recoiling pistols to reduce a little recoil by letting the pistol roll but this little pistol isn't much of a roller. It's got a sharp but not uncontrollable recoil, it won't be seeing allot of range time! That's a whole lotta horse power in a little pistol. It carries nice in a pair of cargo shorts and they make a pretty good selection of holsters. I just throw it in the back pocket when I go hunting arrowheads.

Very cool! I've also thought about getting one of those simple 44 Special revolvers. I've got some 180 grain loads I did for my 44 Mag lever gun, and these would work well in that.
(On a side note... When I'm sitting on the throne I read an old Hornady reloading manual. I was reading all the 44 Special loads I could do and was thinking about making some more 44 Special last night! )
I picked up a 38spl lightweight for $200 from a pawn shop in Sherman a couple of months ago. Its handles very well. Trigger is long like you said but smooth. But when in single action it is very light and short. Only down side to mine, or so I been told, is the color. Its a pink gun, model is 38 Cougar, lol. Color doesn't bother me, girlfriend likes it too, but was hard to not pass up for $200.
I've owned one of these in both 44spl and 38spl for years. Neither has ever failed me. The internal design is a good one. They have fewer moving parts than any other double action revolver. I am a 44 junkie and this little gun has proven itself worthy. Several years ago I had a sounder of pigs surround me while I was working on a feeder and camera. Pitch black moonless night and there I stood with a camera in hand and a flashlight in my mouth. Hornady Critical Defense in a bulldog WILL kill a pig or three DEAD. I like'em. Just my
The psycho nut bags have always been there. They just get better press now. Take away their guns, they'll use knives. Take away their knives and they'll use sticks!!

I carry mine around the place with 2 rounds snake shot and other 3 260grn lead flat nose. Bad rattlesnakes around here. Have my 38 undercover in chrome. Have had it since 1986 when I was a LEO. My backup in my boot top during the summer. Inside my coat pocket during the winter. The chrome is coming off in several places. Too much sentimental value to get it redone. Neither one of them has ever let me down. Wish I would of stocked up on the old 38 nyclad load back in the day. Never dreamed they would of been discontinued. Down to about 40 left. Love me some charter arms.
